Proposed UI change in Modern Warfare Zombies: Bring back some organized color to tac-map icons! Right now, it's lots of white -- which is difficult to visually sort through. I think the UX would be better if activities were properly colored. PaP, Perks, and Buys need priority!

Here's a concept that puts all the #Warzone2 gamemodes back on one cohesive screen. Turning the modes into tiles has a subconscious effect on the player: when you have to scroll to find modes, the variety gets lost in the weeds. There's more content than it seems! #MW2 #UI (1/3)

@ModernWarzone Needs solid QoL updates. Player HUD from WZ1 ASAP. Looting needs rarity colors (gray, green, blue, purple, gold) so the game feels like less of an item sorting simulator. Killfeed needs to be clearer w/ "cracked plates" vs. down vs. elim. On the right track for sure.

Seen many massive creators showing my UI concepts on Twitter and YouTube but giving no credit. Creators with 3m+ subs on YT. They don’t seem to appreciate that by merely mentioning my name, it can lead to a ton of freelance inquiries and engagement on my designs. Do better!

@ModernWarzone Thanks for sharing Doug! You're the man. I get that people are gonna say it's identical to MW19... That's the point. Don't change what wasn't broken. Now, we DO have a broken UI; they clearly rotate gamemodes to accomadate the ever-scrolling Hulu tiles. We need to go back!

The backpack system isn’t inherently bad, it just needs to be refined to speed up navigation. Key information should move from left to right. Plates should be easily seen in the far left, counting every plate, instead of having to find them. Small changes make big differences.

@IceManIsaac Terribly unintuitive HUD and QoL elements. Pings still suck, Player HUD is a massive step back from the end of WZ1, weapon rarity colors gone, contracts are teeny tiny, game feels like a glorified looting simulator bc it takes so much counter-intuitive reading.

Combat pacing was one of my most favorite things that Vanguard introduced. I really hope to see it come back. Overall, a lot of MWII UI but simplified for easier access.

Throughout MWII, I worked my ASS off on thoughtful UI designs and was fortunate to find likeminded people that enjoyed my work, but it ultimately never impacted the game. Day two of the #MW3 beta and SEVERAL developers are engaging in my feedback. SHG’s motto is “We hear you”.

Instead of two screens, it should be streamlined in one menu. It is inherently quicker. Additionally, there should be caps on self-res, killstreak, and field upgrade storage.

They opted to reinvent the wheel with MW22, and I think it has clearly had a negative impact on the game's reception. I am all for new and innovative design, if it helps player retention and is functional and pleasing to look at. The fact is, MW19 accomplished this better.

I can’t help but disagree, though, or at least I would give my concept more consideration. As it stands, money can be buried in the backpack. There’s no total plate #, you have to tally them up. Small things make big differences

Furthermore, I think that they missed the mark by not including a new "walking background" that showcases Al-Mazrah. Little details make the game feel polished, make the game feel like a work of art, and make it feel more alive.

hey @SHGames , Can we go back to visible kill indicators in #MWIII ? As a visually impaired person, the current white translucent indicators are very difficult to interpret quickly. Also not as satisfying! bring 'em back please!

Did y'all know that vests alter your create-a-class? For example, the Engineer Vest removes lethal equipment and gives an extra tactical and piece of Head Gear. I didn't know this until watching a video. The UI needs to tell this directly, so I made a concept. Before/After:

@ModernWarzone 4) Make pings even bigger and less transparent. Make loadout pings persistent on screen 5) Remove rotating Buy Station inventory. No intuitive muscle memory can be developed because the Buy’s stock changes per location. Counter-intuitive.

Weapon Rarity Indicators: Color-coded loot is back.. kinda. When you look at ground loot or equip a weapon, its rarity is shown. I'm so glad this is back! However, after 2 seconds of it being equipped, the rarity is hidden. This isn't great -- good loot SHOULD change play

@DETONATEDcom @TreyarchCM Have to disagree with this one. I like progression for sure, but this system seems like it’s just DMZ-ifying Zombies even more. I’d definitely prefer upgrading perks through crystals instead of more convoluted items.

DMZ's UI overhaul today was huge for me and many others. The old mission UI (left) made no sense to me. It was difficult to read, and seemed like the real mission was figuring out what the UI meant. The new one (right) makes so much more sense, and I'm excited to try the mode!

Update day was a big W in my opinion, which is great to see! Unanimous approval of an update has been rare in MWII, so I’m glad this one was done right. Many great UI updates like this! I’d say the main game UI is about as good as it’s gonna get. HUD is a different story.

Helmet Cam bugs from MWII have carried over to MWIII. If you’re spectating in S&D, the camera randomly swaps to helmet cam. How about we remove the helmet cam entirely @SHGames ? I don’t think anyone likes it, and I’ve seen a lot of complaints about motion sickness from it. #MW3

UI design is super important in defining the tone and user experience of a game. Not many people appreciate how big UI design changes the vibes. MW19 felt badass, Cold War felt like an arcade machine, MWII felt like a milsim, and so far MWIII feels futuristic. Keep it coming!

The current Squad Player HUD is awful. There’s no background, it’s too small, and it shows little information. It’s an all-around step back from #Warzone 1. In Resurgence especially, I want to know information quickly without having to confer with my teammates. #Warzone2 #MW2

Another nitpick that affects the feeling of polish and QoL in #Warzone2 The killfeed"+150 XP" popup has a very short duration. It's problematic because the opacity is low and has little contrast. Additionally, it lacks "Downed" vs "Eliminated" text like #Warzone 1. #MW2 #MWII

I tweeted you yesterday @benfurneaux about the varying shades of yellow shown on the HUD. Playing now, yellow indicates intel within the design language, whereas blue means "press me". Both to better convey meaning, as well as to differentiate the HUD from MWII, I think that

Make it the same yellow (please.)<3: XP popup yellow is not the same color as the compass bar yellow. It's not deeply problematic. Except it is. For me. Consistency is key! I will do anything for this change.

Contracts now appear as a laptop instead of a tiny phone. Better visibility to find contracts instantly. All the quality of life and visibility gripes I had with WZ2 appear to all be fixed in today's event. Wild.
