Since this is my journal, I owe it to myself to acknowledge that I somehow played this cycle well so far, definitely with a lot of luck in the mix though. Long read with lots of learnings listed below, doubt most of you want to spend time reading some random dude's thoughts right now but this is mostly for me. Had major part of my networth on FTX, withdrew hours before they stopped withdrawals Same thing with Luna, had big portion of networth parked in UST and withdrew + sold it all at a 10% loss hours before it went to zero Aped my entire networth into SOL at the lows and didn't sell a thing for 2 years until last November when I started trimming. Sold everything almost 2 weeks ago, have explained my reasoning in previous posts but am happy to elaborate in future posts if requested. Some of my biggest learnings in the last few years. ■ Acting fast deals small blows but prevents financial ruin. ■ Never fully trust any protocol/person, always defend your money. ■ You are not the value of your money, money is the result of the (good/bad) energy you allocated to it. ■ @0xAnteater posted this (I think) and made me think a lot "If I had all stables today, would I long and/or short the same positions I hold now?". This is always on my mind now. ■ If you're a trader, don't listen to macro/long-term focused people. ■ If you're an investor, don't listen to traders. ■ Trust yourself more than anyone else because that's the only way you can truly learn from mistakes. ■ Be happy when you make your own mistakes because each one gets you closer to doing things right. ■ Most people in crypto try to sound smart and highly technical but that's not necessarily how you make money & keep it. You just need to think like a user/consumer and that alone is enough to identify good protocols/products. ■ Embrace all emotions instead of repressing them. Investing is being emotionally intelligent, and that means going through pain so you can always have a voice in the back of your mind when you panic. That voice comes with experience. ■ Money gives peace, not euphoria or happiness. My networth was low 6 figures when I full ported into this market and the dream of being a millionaire made me euphoric. Turns it, it made me depressed because it didn't give the euphoria I felt when dreaming about it. It gave me something much better tough, peace of mind. ■ There is truly nothing more powerful than resisting the urge to FOMO. That emotion is far stronger than panic and if you resist it once you'll never feel it as strong in the future. ■ Don't feel sorry for yourself. You screwed up? Great, don't repeat it. I once lost my entire life savings (before crypto) and although excruciating it was the single best thing that ever happened to me long-term. ■ In last place, I leave you with one of the most impactful tweets of my investment journey (and life). Being positive about the future is in itself a contrarian positioning for life. If you create a positive mindset, money comes more naturally because you embrace wins, losses, barriers, hiccups, and people with the same mindset. This mindset opens many doors for growth (and more happiness). That said, I don't know what my investment plan is for the near future, but I don't plan to hold any positions for long until the market structurally changes.
