I’m not sure why so many people think this is a good idea, but it’s really not, and also not feasible.
1. A good CAD system will rely on a zillion different components, a kernel, data exchange libraries and more. All of those should be open source? The total compounded
can a billionaire please fund some engineers to make FreeCAD not shit so we can have an open source CAD software to compete with solidworks/fusion/onshape?

When I founded Shapr3D, I made a big bet on a platform shift. The latest iPad Pro and iPadOS mark a huge milestone in that transition. In the 1990's we saw something similar: we transitioned from mainframes to desktops. Say hi to a new era!

I launched my first app in the
@AppStore
almost immediately after the store was launched, it was one of the first thousand apps, called Retro Game Pack. We had to write our own engine (which later powered a few App Store hits). We made $15k in a couple of months. 🙃
