@winker_watson @ronmanagernottm I think my dad cut that part off of mine! It was red, so much faster than the purple one my mate had. But, and this is an important admission many years later, Simon Hastie’s green Chopper Sprint (described by my dear old mum as “an accident waiting to happen”) was faster..

@ronmanagernottm We were avant garde - we had a four foot high glass dolphin-shaped peanut dispenser which was only aired for American Suppers. It’s impossible to make this stuff up…

@ronmanagernottm Just followed your absolutely marvellous page, quite literally lovely. Any way do you remember the “walnut whips” sold at Goose Fair? They are about three quid and at least six inches high. Turns out they were full of sponge cake. No cream. And no walnuts. Did I? Not much.
