@t_hafer not necessarily. Someone may support a candidate on grounds that have nothing to do with their employer or work, for example. And when you're talking about candidates who ran for president, it's an even wider net of potential donors. I appreciate the question - it's important.

@t_hafer just realized that, sorry! Basically, OpenSecrets does not distinguish between donations from rank-and-file workers at pharma/health care companies and PAC donations, which more typically reflect a company's values and priorities and are funded by top execs.
