@CYRILEDET9830 It's from "spiral dynamics" (see beck & cowen, + ken wilbur) My take: it's like myers-briggs -- a flawed system, but gives useful insights

@mmjukic Schizo internet weirdos are a hardy but endangered species, in danger of having their native habitats overrun by genetically engineered hybrid organisms

@mbateman If you are curious -- I'm basically pro-reason, freedom, etc. However, I spent years reading NRx people. In *some areas* their grasp of the current cultural and political situation is much more direct than most others. Ack, I need to write this all out somewhere.

@mbateman My rough impression is that he has smarter people around him this time, a mix of experienced Republicans, and SV-adjacent people like Vance and Musk (as I'm guessing you know, Vance is quite deep in the Thiel-o-sphere)

@mbateman The end state might be a much stronger, unified executive branch (neutral), a trimmed down govt bureaucracy (good) and an increasingly shredded constitution (bad) It is a major historical shift.

Blocks are inevitable, as stagnation takes no effort. It is the default state. Humanity could have remained on the savannah forever. It took effort, focus and will to evolve.

@lauralondon_ Eh... I could make an abstract philosophical argument here but I don't think it's the right approach. Reading Atlas for the first time felt like watching a spaceship take off. A spaceship might be propaganda for science & technology, but it's also just inherently cool.

This video looks almost science fictional, like a preliminary glimpse into the mid-21st century. The prison looks like a military fortification crossed with an airport terminal. Orderly, clean, and brutally efficient. Vast, hangar-like buildings crammed with tiny cells.

@nayibbukele Inside El Salvador prisons. How many strikes until you get a trip to El Salvador?

@zarathustra5150 Curiously enough, during the same time period per capita road accident deaths decreased, US national debt increased, usage of landline phones decreased and sales of hiphop increased. Hmm, there must be some vast conspiracy that explains all these correlated trends

@arithmoquine I do not want to hear from the person but don't want to give them the emotional orgasm they get from being blocked It's a rolled up car window rather than a slammed door in the face
