I know not everyone can afford £79 for a dress, and that’s fine! But you can definitely avoid a company that steals designs from small businesses, almost certainly uses forced labour and has lead in their clothing.

All of Etsy’s advice for sellers to attract more buyers is just “be Amazon”. Free shipping, thank you discounts, abandoned cart discounts. How will customers value our work and understand the cost of handmade if Etsy itself doesn’t?.

I drafted the pattern for this dress myself, it doesn’t exist anywhere commercially - they’ve only used my photos to sell their dress, so there’s no way of knowing what you’ll even get if you order it.

Well this blew up! I’ve had so many orders since tweeting this, I can pay off one of my credit cards now! I’ve updated my pinned tweet with links to my work, and I’m going to go and do an enormous grateful cry before starting on the 70+ new orders I need to make! Thank you 💖.

@hellolanemoore Yes! He stopped when I was waiting to cross a road, so I crossed, then he revved his engine and started driving at me. It was terrifying, but I was also furious he did that so I punched his car, shouted at him and ran away.

I had a custom order for a dress made with vintage Bambi bedsheets the customer sent me, and there was a little bit left over so I made a tiny matching skirt for her baby 😍

This dress was a custom order for someone to wear to the Eras tour, she wanted it to look the cover of 1989 (Taylor’s Version). I couldn’t find any bird fabric that would work so I got some plain white tulle and individually hand painted each bird!

Thank you so much for your support on this, I wasn’t expecting such a huge response. It’s so disheartening as a small independent creative to work so hard on original designs, just to have them stolen. It’s really nice to know people care 💖.
