What does the law say? - To lend money and collect interest on same, one needs to be a Money lender or fall under categories permitted under the Money Lenders Acts. - “A person who engages in other businesses who out of pressure or sympathy lends money to his friend….. should not by any stretch of imagination be termed Money Lender” - Chidoka v First City Finance Co. Ltd, Uzoukwu v Idika - Except you are a Money Lender, a debtor owes only what he borrowed. I am just an interpreter of the Law.
