Human rights should be respected everywhere, all the time. The Sakharov prize reminds us this. Congrats to all the Laureates.
This year's Sakharov Prize will be awarded to MarĂa Corina Machado, the leader of the democratic forces in Venezuela and President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia. The prize is named after Andrei Sakharov, a Russian physicist and dissident. This is his story.
