The Council of Europe @coe must stop supporting forced treatment and placement in mental healthcare. This undermines #HumanRights and contradicts the UNCRPD. We urge the Parliamentary Assembly to oppose it. Coercion in mental healthcare must end!

We thank the @EU_Commission for its work as a major humanitarian donor, including for people with disabilities. While we recognise the EU cannot fill this gap alone, it needs to stand as a leader and role model for national governments and the wider donor community. Right now, it is essential that the EU provides emergency funding to prevent organisations from closing and pushes donors to act in the region. Thank you @marta_iraola for covering it!
🚨 “The EU cannot fill this gap left by others,” the European Commission told Euronews as disability NGOs seek emergency aid from Brussels after US President Donald Trump blocked international development projects. Read my story for @euronews👇

The @EU_Commission and @EUCouncil fell short of protecting the rights of passengers with disabilities. But the @Europarl_EN can still make it right. We call on Members to introduce strong amendments in passenger rights laws:

We stand in solidarity with our member Alzheimer Europe. Ableism is not funny. Members of the European Parliament have a special responsibility in recognising and stopping ableist remarks. We hope MEP @leilachabli apologises and addresses these remarks.
1/3 It is extremely disappointing to see this kind of disrespectful “joke” being made by @leilachaibi. @FranceAlzheimer and all our national member organisations fight stigma and misconceptions about dementia on a daily basis...

We stand with solidarity with our American colleagues. Persons with disabilities already suffer from outsized discrimination in employment and daily life. The US President's comments are wrong and irresponsible.
FAA employees with disabilities did not cause last night's tragic plane crash. The investigation into the crash is still ongoing. It is extremely inappropriate for the President to use this tragedy to push an anti-diversity hiring agenda. Doing so makes all Americans less safe.

The Aktion T4 programme was specifically established to murder institutionalised adults and children with disabilities - residential institutions, asylums and hospitals implemented it. #WeRemember Read:
