I am absolutely disgusted with @discord. Their AI moderation process is terrible and I urge everyone reading to request a copy of their data NOW for safety. (please read) So recently Discord have been banning people for the child safety policy falsely. Everyone in the Marvel Rivals server was affected and Discord literally had to give compensation to EVERYONE affected. 3 months of Nitro to the hundreds of thousands of people in the server. What happened? I will go into my personal experience. As for me I did not actually get affected by the Marvel Rivals situation but instead a child safety ban out of nowhere. Lately around my ban time on the 3rd of January I have been tuning into the banned from Discord subreddit where I have found a ton of people get banned for Child Safety. Some got no highlighted message in which they mess up, like me. A lot got presented with a message in which caused the violation. That message was a crying face people are getting banned for crying which is horrible. As for me I had no clue what I did wrong, I made a ticket and I got bot response after bot response. I even requested a review via the client in which its not even scripted properly but once I got it to work that also got denied. My strategy to this situation is just to keep bumping your ticket, keep your appeal ticket open and make multiple. Bump them all. Eventually my ticket with the 2 essays I sent got a human reply, that was this morning. My account was unbanned. I logged in and got presented with a new violation, this time child self endangerment and I wasnt too fussed, I requested a review on that and as stated on the violation I have to wait till 7pm (San Francisco midnight) till I could start texting again. At 7pm.. I got yet another child safety violation.. I was pissed what were these mods doing? Its almost like they are just trolling me. I had lost all my trust in the platform and I had to wait ANOTHER DAY till I could start texting. Luckily my account still remained unbanned. So now im sitting here stuck with these 2 fucked up violations. I have made further replies to the ticket and contacted the twitter account. I am disgusted with Discord and I dont know if i will be able to sleep tonight. They just keep adding violations and im not even saying a word because I cant even speak till the restrictions expire. The reason why their moderation is hell is because they use AI to ENFORCE the Discord TOS. They are also understaffed. If people are being banned for crying emoji then there sure is a problem which needs to be fixed NOW. A suggestion I recommend is having the AI TRIAGE reports instead of ENFORCE. That way a HUMAN can review most reports and the AI discarding false reports. Dont ever let AI enforce an entire platform's rules on its own... I hope im able to spread awareness about Discord.
