“Genie+ at Walt Disney World generated over $724 million in pretax revenue between its October 2021 launch and June 2024.”
When you factor in Disneyland too, Disney has successfully squeezed over a billion dollars out of guests from an amenity that used to be free goodwill. 😒
I refuse to celebrate Disney bringing back trams which should have returned MONTHS AGO and didn’t only because they were saving so much money. They’re ONLY bringing trams back because of public pressure not any sort of goodwill so spare me the balloons and hype please…
Ok wow… the Disneyland app itself shows Rise of the Resistance right now at a 60 minute wait. But
#DisneyGenie
shows it at a whopping 140 MINUTES (!!) but with a $20 option to ride 3 mins from now.
That’s… super shady?
Amazing what you can do when you re-invest your profits in the guest experience instead of bleeding your customers dry and giving them less and less for the increasingly ridiculous cost.
NEW: Tokyo Disney Resort released new video of Fantasy Springs, including an early look at Peter Pan's Never Land, Rapunzel's Forest, and Frozen Kingdom. WOWWW. The land officially opens on June 6.
I’d be totally fine with Disney raising prices if it meant that the parks were pleasant places to be… but they’re wildly overcrowded with long lines for everything and then they want to sell you Genie+ on top of that.
No thanks.
Maybe the lower demand forecasted for Disney parks this year is people finally recognizing that Disney’s strategy of delivering less value for more money and making it increasingly complicated to visit the parks is…
…not good guest service?
@AnthonySabatini
@VashSky
@Disney
So… businesses should be free to operate however they want except when you don’t like it? Y’all trying to… cancel Disney??
If Chapek wants to be apolitical, he can simply direct that Disney make no more political contributions. Simple as that. But he wants to court both sides, including the people who hate his cast members. 🤷🏻♂️
Disney CEO Bob Chapek is less willing to speak on political issues than his predecessor, leaving Florida’s controversial
#DontSayGay
bill unaddressed despite the company’s donations to the bill’s sponsors & its highly publicized inclusion initiatives
@THR
It took my friends 70 mins to go from arriving at the parking structure to being inside Disneyland… and Bob Chapek wants you to pretend he cares about the guest experience.
Disneyland is surveying guests on potential AP replacements. Sounds like ALL “Passports” would be reservation-based with the variables being how far out you can book, how many you can hold at once, and how many “anytime reservations” you can make.
Some of the flat walls in
#TokyoDisneySea
’s Meterranean Harbor have three-dimensional paint work and it’s so incredibly well done that unless you’re literally touching it, you don’t even know!! It’s so well done! My mind was blown when I discovered this...
The Red Car Trollies were one of those attractions that I almost never rode but was such a huge atmosphere-builder when they pass by you. Incredible that they’re throwing that away.
So I’m watching
#Harmonious
and so far it’s just… a bunch of random Disney songs sung in different languages? No particular transitions. Just a bunch of songs.
Something struck me watching Imagineering Story... Walt’s mentality to always give the guest all you can. THAT is where I criticize modern Disney. Today its more about giving the guest “enough.” Case in point SWGE. It’s great... it meets expectations. But oh what could have been!
Ready to have your mind blown? Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, Magic Kingdom AND Shanghai Disneyland all have roughly the same distance between “beginning of Main Street” and the Castle... the Shanghai and Tokyo ones REALLY surprised me! 🤯 😳
Disney Then:
Let’s spend hundreds of millions of dollars “plussing” the theme of DCA. Red Cars, Paradise Pier, etc.
Disney Now:
Yeah nevermind. Let’s put whatever wherever. What even is a “theme park” anymore.
It’s a rainy morning at
#TokyoDisneySea
so I spent the morning at the Sheraton concierge lounge to look at the Fantasy Springs construction.
@tdrexplorer
LMAO @ the CM who says “I understand that but this is a safety hazard” to the guests who got out of a log that sank to the bottom of the flume. 😂 🤣
Would she really have preferred they stay submerged until CMs arrived...?
so we got out of our boat because it was sinking while we were stuck there and the disney world employee decided to tell us that we should’ve stayed in the boat but it went under as soon as we all stepped out... nice

not okay????
I’ve had zero interest in a Disney cruise, until this morning when I heard OLC is getting into the Disney cruise business.
OLC does Disney way better than Disney does Disney.
ESPECIALLY these days…
For ROTR, Disney is doing a complete 180 to their failed summer SWGE strategy. All passes unblocked, heavily promote opening, SoCal $67, holiday wknd, NAMM convention...
They realllly want their crushing “Potter crowds” day... no matter what it means for the guest experience.
The illusion of the water in the foreground being the same as Tokyo Bay in the background is so strong. Would you believe there’s a monorail and access road in between?!
Fun fact about the Rise of the Resistance queue: trash can doors were built into the walls so custodial CMs aren’t walking through the queue. 🤯 Attention to detail!
Right. Disneyland totally WANTS to have very low crowds. That’s why they rushed that massive new parking structure. For the intentionally and totally expected low attendance numbers…
I hate clickbait.
This is a *flight* of FOUR beers and they come in souvenir Rancor tooth glasses and a board that holds them. I’ll drag Disney for pricing but this is actually pretty cool if you like beer. It’s not a $75 drink.
Saved you a click…
One of my favorite details in Disneyland is the abandoned mine train tunnel from Nature’s Wonderland. It’s such a small detail to Frontierland and people don’t ever think about the historical significance and how people actually used to travel through there on an attraction!
The Imagineering Story on
#DisneyPlus
is incredible. So many things I’ve never seen before! It’s rare that a TV show can captivate me so much that I don’t have any desire to fidget on my phone but wow is this a fun watch! Just this alone is worth the price!
