Little bit of backstory: A pillager patrol was robbing and abducting the farmer and his son, but luckily Steve saw what was happening while he was out chopping wood. He crushed a sword with his bare hand to warn them what would happen if they didn’t leave.

@Ist_Grex It’s less that, and more that he isn’t quite human. The pillager before him is terrified not only by the sword, but by what he sees in Steve’s eyes. He does not see the hot anger of an earthly creature, but the cold anger of a machine.

For anyone thinking “Why didn’t this guys totem work?” Here’s the reason why: In my lore you need to keep totems close to your body. He was dangling it around to show it off and dropped it when he saw the arrow, so it didnt work. Basically, he was silly, fucked around & found out.

That boy the cleric picked up is strange all right. He’s small, his nose a little deformed. Don’t speak much aside from his name… “Steve”. We don’t know what village he come from. Likes sitting around those old ruins outside town. Something real off about him. #minecraft
