@HTSBiotechMoss No of course not. But I have once or twice seen postdoc ads where funding had only been secured for part of the project period and hence the length of the position depended on whether the PI ended up obtaining additional funding. So my point was simply that that is not the case.

@ppgardne It's an amazing place to live and you know it :-P But I can see it is only the second most livable city in the world this year, so I guess there is room for improvement ;-)
