This is a real issue highlighted by
@lewis_goodall
which is prevalent all over the uk. My own examples, both personal and from family:
- pay rent from next week or you’ll not get the house (even tho they’re in a tenancy)
- blind bidding without viewing way over rental level

we wanted to examine something which affects millions but which receives a fraction of the coverage that it should. Britain’s crisis in private renting, a crisis which even in the last few months has got even worse.
I was 21 when the Tories came to power. Since then, 2 kids, a top beard and a lifetime later, I hope we can put the times of David and George, Theresa and Boris, Rishi and Liz behind us. And that the future for my two young kids, will be brighter than the shit show of the last 14
Big thanks to the wonderful people
@placesforpeople
who have been so welcoming, supportive and positive since I started in the summer. Here’s my final picture of the year from our Leeds office. What a great place to work 😊

Hey
@flybe
I thought your check in staff who had to put up with being called a f****** stupid pig, by a customer who’s bag was too big and subsequently got it jammed in the frame, dealt with it superbly....Although if it was my plane, he wouldn’t be travelling on it

Excited to be speaking at the

This was the week the we found out we’d have a section 21 notice winging its way to us, so the landlord could milk the property on Airbnb.
Getting this news, with a new bairn, statutory maternity pay coming in for created a hugely challenging situation for us. Not only did we
Right now, too many renters are living with the threat of insecurity.
Our new laws - including ending unfair no fault evictions - will make sure everyone can live in the secure housing they deserve.

I told the story of two of my colleagues, who dogmatically supported a vulnerable customer from significant arrears and difficulty, to no debt, the right benefits and proper support.
A woman is killed by a man every three days in the UK
“Domestic” – that word that somehow doesn’t feel adequate – because terror can also happen in the home.

It’s my first proper day off today for quite some time, so in advance of trekking down to

Today I’ll be talking at the

This week I had the pleasure of visiting our

The question to ask is would you live here? I would. But I’m not quite 55 yet. This approach from

I came across this when I first joined the housing sector. It’s valid more than ever and is a reminder, that we really do care.

This is absolutely right.
@Victoria_Spratt
spot on. The starting point is bucket loads more social housing and that then flows out. We rent, in two months time we have 2 months to move out if the landlord wants. It took us 3 months to get our place last year….

🏠 A perfect storm…
Lower income renters unable to access social housing, pushed into private sector.
Wealthier renters can't afford a mortgage.
120,000 ⬆️ in the UK rental market since 2022.
Not enough housing in areas most needed.
