In business and in markets, the goal is to stay alive Great post
seeing so many tweets of how people lost it all and got completely wiped or are in absolute distress from the dump yesterday it was brutal as hell even "responsible" leverage was rekt i got majorly liquidated on the august 2024 dump which was very similar and still havent recovered just a reminder that the ONLY game in crypto is to survive, thats it, thats all that matters people always tell me "how are you not fomoing", "wow you didnt get into xxx shitcoin??", "bro you left a 5x on the table?" you should be totally okay with missing opportunity if it means you reduce any risk of losing majority of what you have worked for just make conviction based, risk adjusted bets in this market and live with them, its the best you can do those who go for every opportunity find themselves giving even more back to this ruthless market just survive anon, and live your life so many had much bigger portfolios than myself and many others, they just lost it all yesterday, they are set back so hard in life it still hasn't even sunk in people with generational wealth, things that i could only dream of achieving, now worse off than me? insane thats crypto, theres no words for how crazy this is ive been zero'd out 3 times in my life its probably the hardest thing a man can go through just survive anon keep surviving and the catch the right opportunities for you crypto is going to 100T eventually, dont kick yourself out the race in the first 3% just survive anon clouted

It’s definitely a short call from the protocols perspective ser Maybe it’s time to jam on a call? Answers to your not a ponzi metrics: Only way to suppress speculative premium is to inflate STRAT. Long and short bonds do this - aggressive here is controlled by the time delta between when one bonds and can convert and sell STRAT. 69 minutes feels pretty aggressive :) What better mechanic do you suggest than pricing bonds along a curve as a premium to spot? Seems like the most efficient way to find the market clearing price The actual protocol liquidation risk is if the ETH 4 year TWAP drops below our average buy, and stays there until all open options expire (so up to another 4 years) I think if that happens, we got bigger problems than STRAT… - being more upfront about the risks associated with levering by selling options

We are selling calls, so we are short calls, denoted in CDT It’s rational to exercise if the STRAT/CDT spread increases above your premium at expiry It’s rational to exercise early if the STRAT/CDT spread increases above your premium and you would have otherwise sold the call (but there is no deep market like in tradfi) This goes back to is there non speculative demand for the trade? It comes from eth holders wanting debt that can’t be liquidated on wicks

It's crypto, speculative demand is unavoidable :) If you take any mechanic in isolation, the system will be unstable. They all balance each other out There are no puts in the system. If a bonder chooses to sell CDT, it's akin to selling debt (closer to say, selling a t-bill) By combining all the debt across all the tenors, CDT is closer to a perpetual Bonding ETH means using ETH to buy the CDT + Option pair, but crucially everything is priced in USD. So bonders get to monetise some portion of their ETH now, but still retain ETH upside Protocol revenue, and therefore non speculative premium is the upside bonders are willing to give up for this facility
