#Omicron narrative seems to be 1 of opposite extremes - ie it is mild OR the system is on the verge of collapse. Neither is true & IMO such facile reports are not helpful. Once again, we are stretched, but coping & adjusting to an ever changing reality on the ground @Sunnybrook

the everyday reality I see on the frontline @Sunnybrook: #1 issue is fully vac’ed staff in isolation b/c of exposures while asym/sniffles. We are battling a new variant using outdated rules - in a fight with 1 arm tied - closing beds due to staffing etc. We need to pivot & quick

As TAVR has expanded, less use of the heart team, in particular in mature programs. Do we need to rethink this concept as tavr becomes standard of care? Ie use in borderline cases only? Is that more efficient? @CorHealthON @Sunnybrook

@LawwsonKate @picardonhealth effort & resources spent in safe bikes routes would be most welcome. The leadership & will needs to come from city planners & politicians. I ride to work in toronto 🇨🇦, always with a helmet - it is not relaxing & almost everyday a car has come much too close for comfort…

@cpgale3 @dataevan @narodmit @mmamas1973 @TheLancet Good pts - As we deal with our 🇨🇦❤️backlogs, my concern is that inequity will be most pronounced for upstream access - ie to a GP, for screening etc. Simply increasing surgical/procedural capacity may actually worsen ses/racial inequities. Reassuring that it is front of mind.

As we shift our focus on the immense & complex care deficit & backlog- some principles 1. It will require the same degree of resources & commitment as #covid 2. Load sharing/single entry waitlist needs to be on the table 3. All solutions via lens of Equity @Sunnybrook
