The pain of a mother saying goodbye to her son Shujaa Evans Kiratu who was killed in the
#RejectFinanceBill2024
protests. Presently, Shujaa Evans' body is on the way to his rural home for burial today.
Join me in wishing this son of Kenya, a true patriot, a courageous man and a brother to me - Boniface Mwangi, the happiest of birthdays.
Boni, the sweat of your work has liberated this country and saved many from violations, injustices and above all, bad governance.
May you
Shujaa Evans Kiratu has been buried at his rural home in Karambaini village in Kiambu County. He was laid to rest in the afternoon. We also handed over the flag of Kenya to the mother and small brother. Rest in Power Shujaa Evans.
Diana Keya (in grey top) is the heroine who brought the nations's attention to the Kware pit. She is looking for her sister, 26 years Josephine Mlongo (in red top), who has been missing since 26th June. The search efforts led her to the pit where the bodies were discovered.
Presently in CBD, peacefully exercising our constitutional right to protest under article 37 of the Constitution of Kenya. No one has the right to deny Kenyans their rights
Results of 5 postmortems undertaken on the fallen comrades at city mortuary are out. They are as follows (please note we have families' approval to share results):
I'm still at various morgues helping families of departed comrades. The grief of a mother losing a son is just...so sad. One mother just confirmed the body of her son today. The thought that all this was needless makes it more painful 😔😔😔
Evans Kiratu, 21 years old, died after suffering blunt trauma to the pelvic, abdominal and chest areas. We finished the postmortem yesterday and cleared with KNH hospital late today. Family has confirmed he will be buried tomorrow at 11am at his rural home in Karambaini, Kiambu.
Presently at the burial of Shujaa David Chege in Mang'u village, Kiambu County. Draped his coffin with the Kenyan flag and presented another flag to the mother. Forever in our hearts ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Just learnt of the death of Shujaa Abdikadir today. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiun. He was shot during the first maandamano. I visited him last week and he was full of life despite lying paralysed with a bullet in his body. Another comrade lost. Burial is tomorrow.
When you spend much time in morgues, from time to time the mind replays the smell of dead bodies out of nowhere. For a minute or so you just feel that strong smell. You could be sitted at home and it comes as a whiff. It's as if the smell stalks you. I just had that moment 😔😔😔
This girl
@Honeyfarsafi
is a super woman. She has set the standards of public resource management and accountability. She is doing tremendous work supporting families of fallen and injured comrades. A modern day Mau Mau heroine 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Shujaa Andrew Kelvin Mwawasi's mother weeping at the burial of her son who was killed by killer cops. No one needed to die. No mother needed to weep. The government simply needed to listen. Our fallen comrades will never be forgotten.
#BanRutoAtUNGA79
They are now shooting live bullets in the CBD. This is more than excessive force. It's too much and unwarranted. There is no provocation from the public, there is no violence. The ones who are violent are the police.
I want to pass my personal appreciation to comrades Shakira
@fit_ermined
, Kasmuel
@_KasKazini
and Yasa
@yasahkym
who held on to me and didn't let go when the police goons came for me today the first time at Kenyatta Avenue. I owe you guys ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽

Boys from Kware have escorted the bodies all the way to the city mortuary. They're saying they want to ensure no evidence is lost and no attempts to cover up as they do not trust the police. The identification exercise and postmortem to commence on Monday.
Thank you
@citizentvkenya
for sharing this. Acting IG Kanja of
@NPSOfficial_KE
, can you please hold a press conference and explain to Kenyans why your officers have not arrested these individuals who are clearly armed and dangerous?
Just attended the emotional burial of 16 year old Shujaa Kelvin Odhiambo Maina at Lang'ata cemetery. The burial was attended by family, friends and teachers of Kelvin. We draped his coffin with the Kenyan flag and gave another flag to the mother.
I can confirm we have secured the release of Rachel Wanjiru, the aunt to the late Shujaa Evans Kiratu. She was released without charges, thanks to KOX. The husband, Albert, remains in custody and has been taken to Milimani court.

Spent day at morgue and can confirm identification and postmortem of bodies has commenced. Also coordinated with

@DCI_Kenya
in their locality.
We've visited the city mortuary today and have confirmed that no protest related bodies have been brought in during the last 24 hours. Thank God 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

Ibrahim Kamau Wanjiku, 19 years old, was shot twice in the neck in quick succession. The bullets were fired on the right and exited on the left side of the neck. We did the postmortem and released the body to the family. They confirmed burial is tomorrow after Friday prayers.
I can confirm Albert Mwangi, Uncle to Shujaa Evans Kiratu, is free. His wife Rachel Wanjiru was released earlier today. They are now going home with Mama Evans. All other comrades, including
@bonifacemwangi
are also free. Aluta continua...✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Acting IG Kanja, after your statement on the Kware bodies, can you also come out clearly on what you intend to do with the killer cops who murdered our youth in the protests? The number of those killed is now approaching 50 and not a single killer cop has been apprehended.
24 years old Abdikadir was laid to rest 4 days ago. He was the only child. Father died a few years ago which means Mum is now all alone. The killer cop who shot and killed him is still walking scot-free.
@WilliamsRuto
has done nothing to bring him to justice.
#ArrestKillerCops
We have buried Shujaa Ibrahim Kamau Wanjiku. His burial was attended by hundreds of youth who were peaceful and had nothing but praises for their departed colleague. We also handed over the flag of Kenya to the mother. From Allah we come from and to Him is our return.
Let's not get carried away. Our fallen shujaa comrades are 6 feet under and their killers are still walking scot-free. Those killer cops should be next in line - to be arrested and charged in court

Comrades Alert!
Just spoke to brother of comrade Boniface Akatch of Kisumu. He says Boni is not in a good condition. He's been beaten and currently being held in cells. Police saying they will arraign him in court. Calling on Kisumu comrades and

to intervene.
We're at City Mortuary today also to support families of fallen comrades with postmortems of 3 as follows:
1. Shujaa Kevin Odhiambo Maina
2. Shujaa Wilson Sitati
3. Shujaa Kennedy Njeru
After this, we proceed to Rongai for the postmortem of 12 years old Kennedy Onyango.
We are at Central Police Station following up on the family of police killings who were arrested. The police have become rowdy suddenly and arrested lawyer
@JamesKWaNjeri
. We are appealing to
@lawsocietykenya
to intervene and ensure release of wakili and arrested family members.
Sema ukweli buana for once...you are uniting to deny Kenyans real change for a bright future by bribing cheap opposition leaders to help you silence the real voice of Kenyans by GenZ. Inshaallah may you fail in this endeavour and may the Lord give victory to our youth. ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
We are uniting as leaders from different political orientations to form a team that will synergise its views and ideas for an inclusive transformation of our country.
At the burial of 12 years old Shujaa Kennedy Onyango, Mama Kennedy pleads for assistance after a court order halted the burial of her son in Rusinga, Homa Bay County. Body presently lying at Kirindo mortuary in Mbita.
We're presently at Nairobi Area Regional Police Headquarters, occupying the place with family, lawyers, friends and colleagues of

Diring the protests, we knew this and removed their masks on the ground. Our point was, if they were doing lawful work, why were they hiding their faces? It's good that the courts have confirmed our position all along.
We've been joined at Rongai by
@Honeyfarsafi
for the postmortem of 12 year old Shujaa Kennedy Onyango. The mother and father of Shujaa Kennedy are also here.
Presently in court at Milimani following up on

There's a bunch of rogue police officers in Nairobi who operate with utter impunity and blatant abuse of the law. Nyinyi sasa tutawaanika. Kenya is not a police state! Hiyo tumekataa.
Quite overwhelming scenes at the city mortuary. Families of victims overcome by so much grief 😔😔😔 So far, 6 confirmed dead at city mortuary, 3 in Mombasa. Dark day in the history of our nation.
@WMutunga
@Honeyfarsafi
@bonifacemwangi
At the city mortuary, since 25th June to date, there are over 50 unknown bodies (excluding the Kware bodies) that have been brought in. Some of the bodies have gun shots. We are asking those whose kin are missing to please also check at the city mortuary.
Following claims that investigations into shootings of protestors have stalled because families and witnesses haven't come forward, today we accompanied the families and witnesses to
@IPOA_KE
to record statements. We demanded that killer cops be arrested and justice be done.
The strength of this movement is the women. They have time and again showed their courage and stood firm in the face of oppression.

We have just been teargassed outside the regional police headquarters as we were chanting "Free Free Morara". It's possible they have done this so that they can sneak
@MoraraKebasoSnr
out of this place.
Why is it so hard for the President and other politicians to believe that GenZ are a woke and fearless generation? They don't need to be told what to do or be funded by anyone. They just want a bright future for Kenya. Fullstop. Is that so hard to believe?
When
@WilliamsRuto
and other politicians insist that GenZ revolution is funded, they assume everyone is like Kenyan politicians who bribe people to attend their rallies and demonstrations. GenZs are organic, they do it for their country...tribeless, partyless and fearless. ✊🏽✊🏽✊🏽
Presently at City Mortuary with the mother and relatives of 15 year old Shadrack who was shot dead by police on Tuesday 3rd September, in Mukuru kwa Reuben after he questioned why police were harassing and torturing his friend. Extra judicial killings are real and happening every
Presently at Kenyatta Hospital in solidarity with the family of Abdikadir who passed away after succumbing to a bullet injury. Being a Muslim, he must be buried as soon as possible but at the moment, Pangani Police Station is refusing to issue an OB thus delaying everything.
The law is very clear that at the point of arrest, a police officer must identify himself and state the reason for arrest. What these officers were trying to do while hooded and in masks, is to abduct not arrest. Anyone who can identify them please share their photos tuwaanike.
This is my country, my constitution, my flag. I'm ready to defend them with my life. No president, no government, no police can deny me the right to live and enjoy my rights as guaranteed in the constitution.
@SemaUkweliKenya
The mother of 12 year old Shujaa Kennedy Onyango distraught upon receiving the postmortem report of her late son. It's so painful for a mother to lose such a young life through the bullet 😥😥
Kudos
@Honeyfarsafi
for the excellent work on managing the m-changa account and for presenting the audited accounts today. It was no easy task. You've done great and exhibited how public funds should be managed. Let state officers learn from your work. You've made us proud
Hello guys. The D day has finally arrived. Here is the audited Mchanga report.
Two months ago, Kenyans and people of goodwill contributed a total of Ksh 31,663,580 in an Mchanga account dubbed “care for the injured” which I had created. My initial target was 10 million and I
This is what living under Ruto's regime feels like. They kill your child and when you come out to demand justice as a parent, they brutally arrest and send you to police cells.

Here is the story of the good samariatan boda boda guy who helped 19 years old Daniel Mwaura...he says after the boy was shot in the stomach and his insides were showing, he sought assistance from police but police chased him away. Hiyo ndio utumishi kwa wote?!
Someone was shot in the stomach and his organs almost came out. Man, talk about grace. He needs blood Samuel Mutisya is a walking miracle.

Now that we've confirmed they are alive, the quest for justice begins. We can't have a country where persons are just picked by officers, kept in communicado and then dumped weeks later kwa kichaka. This is unacceptable. Lazima tujue who did this and bring them to book.
I've received 2-3 calls from families of protest killings victims saying they've been called by police to go record statements. Kindly let's tell families that all such cases are handled by
@ipoa
, not police.
@LawSocietyofKe
is representing families. Let families go to
@ipoa
,
Today, as we presented families of shujaas who died during the protests to
@ipoa
, we did not mice our words that the prime suspect in all the cases are the police and police cannot investigate the police. IPOA should take over and ensure justice is done.
#ArrestKillerCops
Presently in Kamuthanga, Machakos County, for the burial of Rex Masai who was the first victim killed in the
#RejectFinanceBill2024
protests. We join family and friends in demanding for justice.
Presently in court in the Njagi/Longton brothers case. Impunity persists and IG Masengeli has yet again failed to appear in court. Instead, it's Deputy IG Lagat who has attended (second right in combat). Police think they are above the law. This thinking must be dealt with.
Fun moment with a comrade today at the hospital - Tobias is nursing a gun shot injury kwa thigh but ako in high spirits. Alitupea mistari freestyle. He requested us to ask Kenyans to follow him on tik tok

Received this request from the boys retrieving bodies from Kware, Mukuru kwa Njenga. Together with
@mukuru_cjc
and a team of councillors, we are organising for the boys to be counselled.
First, they teargassed our journalists. Then, they shot at our journalists. Today, they've abducted our journalists. What will they do to our journalists tomorrow?
Article 34 of the Constitution guarantees freedom of the media. Media freedom is non negotiable.
