It’s outrageous to reward Miles' failures by pushing for more school closures in areas already devastated by food deserts, unsafe drinking water, and endless stopped trains. This isn’t just a policy failure; it’s a direct assault on vulnerable neighborhoods and our future.

Campo said he makes clear to parents that he’s not their “advocate.” “I can’t listen to what a parent says and then intervene (on their behalf.) If I do that, I’m totally under-treading the authority of the superintendent and his team.” Supe 1 Children 0

Miles wants to spend $2.5M staffing schools with 19yr olds from @uhouston . Building a teacher pipeline with universities is important, but what is the university doing to ensure that Miles cannot use these contracts to fill classrooms with students who have not yet graduated?

Governor Abbott has no business removing our democratically elected school board. State takeovers almost exclusively target districts with high percentages of Black, Brown and low income students. All around the country state takeovers have failed miserably. #NoHISDTakeover

“The HISD State takeover is not about 1 school or 30 schools," Turner wrote. "This is a concerted attempt to take over public ed in the largest district while intentionally side stepping schools they dare not touch. This is a long term occupation.”

Inmoral #HISD takeover is part of a larger effort 2 dismantle public Ed. ✅Set unrealistic goals based on standardized test scores. ✅Strip school boards of all decision making capacity. ✅Decrease transparency through elimination of public meetings and limiting public comment
