@sknnydipp @Billie_4_life_ Then why wouldn’t she pay for more awards, why after 2+ decades, why would she have just one major category win before this? Why would Billie have done that all with her first album which was lower rated than 4/5 of Beyoncé’s noms? And HMHAS was lower rated than CC too…

@tiredsias @__jahlil__ What about this is wistful… y’all just say shit to hate on Beyoncé. She literally opened her album with a FUNERAL SONG FOR AMERICA. After coming off THIS RUN!

@__jahlil__ And I won’t hear “the context was different” “it was more clear with Kendrick” No it wasn’t. She opened her album with a FUNERAL SONG for America. The album had these lyrics (the first of which she performed at her halftime), and THIS is HER context.

@ashanism “Beyoncé’s flag lacked context” She has been outspoken against the way America is for years. She opened her album with a FUNERAL SONG for America. She had these lyrics on there too, and said this was the purpose of the album when it dropped. You’re just dumb.

So they get Kendrick’s usage but they’ve been attacking Beyoncé for months for the doing the same thing. And his wasn’t “more clear”— she sang this verse of YA YA at her Halftime show and she opens the album with a REQUIEM for American. On top of her previous political work.
"Too loud, too reckless, too ghetto" "Uncle Sam" representing those who tell the Black community how to behave. The dancers forming a disconnected American flag. The imagery. The cultural significance & relevance. An absolute work of art here. Kendrick Lamar, man. #SuperBowl

@thandiwilson1 These are the lyrics from that album. Also this Beyoncé? Who got boycotted by the police? Who has been a trailblazing for using activism and politics in her shows constantly?!
