As a native Korean myself, I second this. There are many people who make their living by renting hanbok to foreigners. It's part of the cultural experience that is meant to be open to everyone as a way to SHARE our history.
Note that palace entry is free in Seoul if you’re wearing Hanbok, so they actively encourage foreigners to try wearing Hanbok to enhance their palace visits. It’s not “embarrassing and cringe” or “trying hard to look Asian”. Several hundred people do it daily. Don’t let comments.
