But here’s the kicker! Despite being a fervent architect of anti-Western narratives in Russia; despite interfering in neighboring countries’ policies, raising funds for Russian troops, and indoctrinating children with war — Medinsky has not been sanctioned by the EU.

They are told that Baltic Nazis “used terrorist methods to attack military and police officers and murder the families of Soviet activists, teachers, and medics,” and that “tens of thousands of people in the Baltic states fell victim to the savages.”

In one chapter covering postwar history, Russian children are taught about the ongoing “relentless struggle” against “Nazi collaborators — the Baltic ‘savages,’ Banderites, and members of the Ukrainian rebel army (UPA).”

.@EUvsDisinfo found that “these textbooks are ideological training manuals for manufacturing loyalty and suppressing dissent,” and that “they prepare Russian children and youth to see war not as a tragic failure of politics, but as a sacred and necessary act.”

We haven’t even touched on the history textbooks co-authored by Medinsky and MGIMO rector Anatoly Torkunov — now mandatory in all Russian schools.
