Headed up the road! Very grateful for the opportunity

What looks like rain is freezing in less than a minutete. Proof of the glaze of ice forming on too of existing ice.

NEVERRR in my wildest dreams would I have ever thought that i'd be tracking a Chinese spy balloon for a weather report ANDDD describing what a sounding is on TV but here we are. Based on upper level winds, could be off the coast of the Carolina's tomorrow.

(1/3) As many of you know, today will be our last newscasts
@KTVL
. 11pm will be our last show and I hope you all tune in throughout the day! It has been an absolute honor to not only be in this community, but to be embraced by you and be able to bring you local news and weather.
Well, it looks like this low has reached it's lowest pressure at 942.5 mb. Luckily, our buoy 46005 ended up nearly in the center of the low so we were able to watch the pressure decrease this morning.

WHAT. A. BEAUTE. Our current storm system today has nothing on this one. Deepening trough is allowing this mid-latitude cyclone to rapidly intensify over the next 24-hours. Will produce damaging winds and an intense (and potentially historic) atmospheric river into CA

: Right along the Cascade range in Linn County. Quakes are not uncommon in Oregon although most go unfelt. Right along the convergent boundary of the Juan De Fuca and North American plate.

Because of all of you, the support you give I am the meteorologist I am today. I arrived at the start of the pandemic, reporting on the Labor Day Fires and been in the ups and downs with you. I'm not sure where I'm headed at the moment, but Oregon is home and I will be back!
⛔️🚙❄️Reminder: I-5 is CLOSED from Ashland, OR to Fawndale exit north of Redding, CA due to "life-threatening blizzard conditions" DO NOT ATTEMPT to drive in these conditions on any roads in Klamath, Siskiyou, Shasta Counties. Conditions will improve tomorrow.

(2/3) I fell in love the moment I arrived- the trees, the mountains, and most importantly the people. I could not have been the meteorologist I am today without my coworkers and viewers like you. It's been over 3 yrs and you've seen me at my worst when I first started to now😂
parents in town from SC and got to experience a protest on I-5, some cascade lakes and my favorite town of bend. Busy, fun and surprising very Oregon day 😍

Sorry had to just log off this weekend, but I will respond to each and every one of you. Seriously thank you for reaching out and the kind words are encouraging. Despite the news, excited what the future intakes. I'll continue posting OR/CA weather for the time being. 🙏🏼
🌌Round 2: Not as prominent, but geomagnetic storm is still ongoing right now! Due to sunlight, we're not able to see it, but

will be again visible tonight. Less likely Sunday night. Like bands of rain in a storm, periods will be intense with lulls at times.

☀️🌧Pattern is dry & warm for now— but all signs pointing toward an active and cold February for the West Coast. Switch could happen after JAN 25.
Building -PDO typically brings colder and wetter conditions to the west coast and we’re seeing that occur.

HISTORIC NEWS: For the first time since the week of November 19, 2019... WE ARE OUT OF DROUGHT across the ENTIRE state of Oregon.
Why? Most of this year's Pacific storms have been directed towards OR and CA. Unfortunately, same things can't be said for WA.

❄️Love the Crater Lake cam this time of year, this is the visitor center at elevation of 6K and well OVER the 70" observed on the 11th!

NOT a hurricane, but "similar" dynamics going on here. While a strong area of low pressure, this is a cold-cored mid-latitude cyclone and lacks tropical characteristics. Notice the double-barreled "eye" formation around the apparent low. California being California lately?

❄️⛷️FINAL START TO SKI SEASON?! Am I putting all the money in the bank?? Well.. I'm like a few hours from doing so. THREE ensemble outcomes from reliable European, over the past two outputs suggest the same outcome- significant cold and our FIRST ARCTIC OUTBREAK of winter!
