@mikulaja @JohnRoseforTN Thanks for showing a sliver of interest in this catastrophe. If I were questioning the Fed, I would ask what specifically they’re doing to find the missing $90M. I still don’t get how that is consistently treated like a minor piece of this story.

@BizJournalism Synapse and the banks losing track of who is owed what makes perfect sense. What I have been trying to understand is how they lose a portion of the grand total and still attribute those missing funds to individual users.

@SenatorAndyKim @SenateBanking If you haven’t heard of the Synapse case, you need to look it up and study it because it is a case study in the dangers of consumer protection laws and how they can hurt the very people they’re made to protect.

@SenateBanking Yet, they did nothing about the Synapse bankruptcy, which has upended thousands of lives of people trying to be responsible with their money…

@mikulaja Kind of a weird coincidence that Scot Lenoir and Adam Moelis both have fathers named Ken, yet I don’t feel the Kenergy from either of their businesses - they’re certaintly not Kenough.

@mikulaja Looks like Sankaet already responded on the Telegram… something about a former employee wanting D&O insurance (whatever that means).

@mikulaja Please keep reporting on this angle. I’m terrified that someone will successfully the reconciliation of the Synapse ecosystem and report where the missing money is, only to have that bank just shrug and say, “it is wrong; we don’t have it.” At that point, we’ll need the Fed.

@DJSlyRy @mikulaja Because of how Jason reports this story, I’m worried that you “won” your case because Evolve actually did have your money, while your daughter genuinely lost her case because the “transfer to Synapse brokerage” actually cleared them of blame (which is bull#%&!). Can you comment?

@ajsaeedy Three items you’re missing… 1) Fed apparently won’t audit the disputed transactions between banks. 2) There are two offers on the table for a free ecosystem-wide reconciliation. 3) No one is telling us anything. Go find out what’s stopping them from finding the missing money.

@mikulaja I thought it was a slight improvement over the CNBC article because it does talk more about the shortfall (which is the critical piece of this whole story) - however, it still fails to go far enough because it doesn’t even ask the question… what is stopping a full recon?

@graiggraziosi Just read your article on the Synapse bankruptcy here in the US. Im one of the people affected. Your story doesn’t even scratch the surface on how insane this situation is. It should be one of the biggest stories of 2024. If you want to learn more, just ask.
