@trispora @KirkegaardEmil What is the source of this 80 IQ claim? Just curious if there was actually a data point out there somewhere.

@Shiftant Wait actually? Across most populations? Some sort of sexual selection?

It rlly is just a map of which states are the most homogeneous in population. The more diverse a state, the more unequal it tends to be. More of a reflection of demographics rather than policy.

State-level variation in inequality is fascinating. New York and D.C. are far and away the most unequal, and then Utah and Alaska are among America's most equal places.

Another point maybe not too relevant for this, but I see no issue here. I honestly think America is being pretty efficient at managing their talent. I do not have an issue with certain groups being clustered in certain occupations as long as we have the best talent being represented.

Another thing to add if this was not clear enough: Europe may provide a good amount of high quality INVESTORS to the Tech industry in the United States. But Asian countries, Latin America, etc., particularly India, provide a good quantity of high quality tech WORKERS. Sure I am well aware of the disaster of India’s human capital, no need to lecture me there. But the point is, immigration has been good so far and let us continue to make sure it is good. If anything, I feel bad for India to losing out on its elites like this.

The Bengali point is interesting, and honestly very puzzling. Even South Indian consanguinity, like how different rlly are they from their North Indian counterparts when it comes to IQ, height, etc. Orissa’s chart actually is interesting. Could perhaps hint at a Dravidian society assimilated to an Indo-Aryan language? Similar to Marathis?
