You know why there is so much trouble in the SBC? Because they have stepped away from sound doctrine and theology. Today's sexual scandals are a symptom/ result. It's telling how the crowd is raging about the symptom while ignoring the chief problem.

What we have witnessed, and currently observe, is that the SBC seminaries have been spitting out theologically liberal, ideologically liberal, and politically liberal men and women, to be 'church planters', 'pastors', missionaries. .

@johnsstrickland 1. My thoughts. God doesn't need the SBC, Corporate program, IMB or the ERLC. He doesn't. God did not ordain the SBC. Communities need Bible Churches. Biblically-Doctrinally-Theologically sound churches. Deep expositional teaching/ preaching. God will use and bless that.

Theo-liberal SBC twitter is dragging @TomBuck for this solid observation. In order to condemn Tom, they are, as I see it, intentionally misrepresenting him. It's clear Tom is pointing out the pastor's lack of discernment, theological drift. Not, blaming Byrd.
I recently spoke with a man heartbroken because his pastor committed adultery. The pastor started promoting Amy Byrd's "Why Can't We Be Friends" & encouraged men & women in the church to have close intimate friendships. A year later he left ministry disqualified due to adultery.
