Another excellent video from @dubcivictrust of the conservation of 68 Arran Street East showcasing the careful removal by hand of the duvet of paint built up over centuries which obscures the exquisite Rococo decoration of the cornice.

One of Dublin’s most recognisable landmarks, #JohnHenryFoley’s O’Connell Monument is an expression of “the gratitude of the Irish people for the blessings of civil and religious liberty” which O’Connell obtained for Ireland (Foley’s statement to the Monument Committee, 1867)
