"Not to oppose error is to approve it; and not to defend truth is to suppress it, and, indeed, to neglect to confound evil men—when we can do it—is no less a sin than to encourage them.” Pope Saint Felix III
Resignation is an important form of protest. Disclosing the reasons for such a move is equally important. I tried my best to serve public interest only to face institutional resistance. Below is a clear communique.
To all Lebanese leaders without any exception: if you have a modicum of self-respect, you resign immediately, go home and disappear from public life forever.
After running the largest Ponzi scheme in history, at a national level, Lebanon is embarking on the largest heist in the world: a sale of state assets and a sale of gold to the benefit of the top 1 pct of the people. We will never learn!

understands the importance of an IMF program to trigger the reforms required by the Lebanese people. It's unfortunate that after 3 years of issuing the reform plan, the govt of

is incapable of standing to special interest groups.
2 tons of ammonium destroyed a building in Oklahoma City in 1995. In 2020, 2700 tons of ammonium have destroyed Beirut. We know who is responsible. And the people will come and fetch you from your beds!
The reasons for rejecting the forensic audit in Lebanon is purely political. It is because it threatens to reveal the truth about financial corruption that is endemic to our political class. Kroll has worked in Lebanon already for banks as well as for BDL in its role ...
A Rolex watch creates a press franzy in the US but an alleged transfer of 240 million USD by a public servant in Lebanon brings the media to his defense. Now, do u understand why forensic audit should include the media?
People have been asking me over the last few days why I did resign … My answer is quite simple: I did not. In fact, I assumed responsibility. It is them, all public officials, that have resigned their responsibilities before the general public ...
The Higher Defense Council met tonight and they promised to find the responsible. responsible? Really? Look no more. You are all sitting around the table. And you all represent the failures that led us here. You are the criminals!
Conclusion from the MPs visit in Sweden:
1. IMF Program is a must
2. Reforms have to be fulfilled exhaustively (not the way it is being done today)
3. Accountability has to be fully implemented and people responsibilized
Once those are done, the internt’l community will react

The political elite in Lebanon supported by the oligarchy, mainly banks, have driven Lebanon into the abyss and benefitted from it along the way. After privatizing the profits, that same group is socializing the losses and using the IMF to get immunity on such crimes …

I agree with you Jean regarding

. A true reformist & someone that gets things done. He will put all the reforms on the table and reestablish relations with the GCC & the western hemisphere based on national interests. At least, it won’t be based on lies as it is today.
I’ve been in Dubai for less than 48 hours and it is even clearer today that no progress will take place in Lebanon in the presence of the Club of 6: nasrallah, Aoun, Berri, joumblatt, hariri, geagea ... and all their underlings and all the people who have been financing them

The number of people diagnosed with Covid19 keeps on increasing. It stands at 175 today! This is outrageous! I think we need a parliamentary sub-committee to lower this number 🤣🤣🤣

has to be wary at the political leadership of the country: they excel at mining any reform to dilute it from any implementation. They excel at empty promises. Do not accept any plan that has no teeth and that does not allow for full accountability.

Message to the Lebanese political class: undertake reform and finalize an IMF program. Otherwise, Lebanese citizens will hold you responsible and accountable for taking Lebanon to hell. You are using precious time as we are living on borrowed time. Enough mascarades!
To the Commader in Chief of the Army: what are you waiting to conduct mass arrests of the political class and put them all to trial? From the President of the Republic to the Speaker of the House to the Prime Minister. To all MPs and ministers - current and former....

Riad Salame is now worried that the reserves are getting close to the required reserves of 17.5 and that he cannot touch them. When Paul Harb and myself published that on March 25, and used it as one of the arguments for the immédiate need for the IMF, we were treated by ...
What happened today in Beirut is a criminal act by the political class that has « led » Lebanon from top to bottom without any exception. They should not only resign. Resignation is no longer acceptable. All should be tried and judged. The people have declared war to that class.
The only thing that makes me get up with a smile is seeing how the Swiss enquiry is making every single member of the political-financial manzoume squirm (am being polite). And yes, it will be a domino effect.
Yesterday,
@BDL_Lebanon
disclosed its biweekly interim balance sheet with two key eye-popping items: the appearance of a new 16 bn USD debt to the State and a 36 billion USD “Valuation Adjustment”. Let us start with the first one. Where do these 16 bn come from?
@Najib_Mikati
Lebanon’s management of the corona pandemic will be recorded in the history of nations as the most criminal: herd immunity in the most brutal way. Even the management of the vaccine file is ludicrous. This is a crime against humanity.
@Hamad_hassan20
How conflicted can one be? Only in Lebanon, would a Parliament - the House that is supposedly representing the general interest of the People of Lebanon - would ask to have a lower discount on the sovereign debt in negotiations with its creditors. I wonder who they represent...

Let us focus on the key message: there is no exit from the crisis without having the past impunities at all levels corrected, even if this will take a generation. That was the message. And that is not populism. It is fairness and justice.
Can someone explain to the governor that the USD at the BDL are not his to spend? Can someone explain to him that subsidizing commodities in not in his authority? Can someone explain to him that fixing the exchange rate (which we should not) is not in his authority? Enough!
All characters and events depicted in this video are entirely fictitious. Any similarity to actual events or collections of persons is purely coincidental.
Now, compare this talk with the conflicted wishy-washy messages we get from
@Najib_Mikati
. Exit from the current crisis can only come with leadership such as
@fmakhzoumi

Worked pro bono and without a contract. And until my last breath, I will speak out the truth and my opinion. Everything is based on publically available information. It would have been better for
@NahasNicolas
to talk about the failure of parliament in preventing this crisis
Lebanon about to name
@Najib_Mikati
for PM. Yet, he shared no program, no vision, no plan. When will the people of Lebanon get the respect they deserve and politicians worthy of that name? More of the same. Expect no change.
The crisis in Lebanon is still run from the vantage point of personal interests: politicians refusing reforms because it threatens their existence, a central bank hiding its losses and a banking sector wanting to extend the pain to depositors as a solution
The politico-financial regime has spoken again: no to capital control laws; forensic audit discussion postponed to protect that same regime; a refusal to deal with he restructuring of the financial system by putting the burden on small and medium depositors through daily haircuts
So, this is how despicable Lebanese leadership. Politicians getting vaccinated outside of Lebanon during the worst time of the pandemic, leaving the people to face their own death alone, so that they can come back 3 weeks later and impose more misery on Lebanon. What a model!
So that the general public is aware of the alternatives on the table, here is a side by side comparison of the impact of the Government Plan vs.
@ABLLebanon
Plan.
Tomorrow. 4 pm. Let us bring all of them to their knees. No sandwiches. Fork pitches and machetes. This current political system has only one way to go and that is down.
When are the dinosaurs in the current political landscape and their cronies going to realize that their days are over, that their lies are ineffective and that they have been completely uncovered? Your time is out. Pack and leave! Let the new generation build what you destroyed.
The banks are threatening to withdraw from negotiations after dragging their feet for months to sit on the table. Basically, they are saying because you are not letting us steal people’s assets, we will blackmail the whole country. Their interest does not represent ....
We are today as advanced in the IMF negotiations as before the parliamentary sub-committee started its work and delayed the process just to defend politico-financial interests. This is criminal behavior!
Mission accomplished. The Taef Mafia has hit again, with all its accomplices in the politico-financial manzoume.
It is good to know - and for the whole world to know - that in Lebanon you can commit a financial crime and then have parliament pass a law that would give you legal cover for your past deeds. This is what the contemplated project law is doing for banks against depositors!
Anyone involved and partly responsible in the financial mess of Lebanon cannot be involved in finding a way out out of the crisis. And surely not to lead the country out of its mess. We need a government made of independents with exceptional legislative powers.
This is the funniest articles. Lebanese parliamentarians still think that getting an IMF programme is like negotiating a loan with your local bank where you can provide false financial statements and get away with it
The transfer of state assets as part of any plan is grand theft. Lirafication of deposits -which is being practiced today - is grand theft. What is in common between both actions? The
@ABLLebanon
plan.
I have said it before and I will repeat it: there will be no reforms in the country -political and financial- as long as Riad Salame heads the BDL and as long as he has not been held accountable for all the legal violations and the financial unorthodoxies.
