Happy fundraising anniversary to our client Ambassador Liz! Liz began fundraising with us in 2021 to help offset the costs associated with transplantation. Just a few months later, Liz received the ultimate gift of life: a new heart and liver. In 2023, Liz became an official client Ambassador and has been an incredible advocate for both the transplant and Help Hope Live community. Liz, congratulations on your milestone today. We feel so lucky to be a part of your journey.

Today is National Wear Red Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the number one killer of women: cardiovascular disease. Today, we wear red today to be seen, to be heard. At Help Hope Live, we know that the emotional and financial burdens associated with a cardiovascular disease diagnosis can be overwhelming. Medical expenses like surgery, treatments, and ongoing care can accumulate quickly—creating additional stress during an already difficult time. If you or a loved one need assistance preparing for these potentially out-of-pocket costs, we are here to help. Discover how we're different from crowdfunding or submit a campaign request today. @GoRedForWomen #WearRedDay #WearRedandGive #HeartMonth

"I asked to become a Help Hope Live Ambassador as a small way to give back to the many people who have supported me." A very happy fundraising anniversary to our client Ambassador Dylan! Dylan, a talented artist who has created public art installations in cities across the country, began fundraising with us to help offset the costs associated with his lung transplant. Over the last several years, Dylan has become a staple within both our Help Hope Live network and the wider transplant community. Dylan, congratulations on this milestone! We can't wait to see the next masterpiece you create!

"I came to Help Hope Live in December 2023 after learning about the nonprofit via an @AbilitiesExpo event. We’ve raised over $19,000 over the past year. I never thought this would happen!" After we got the chance to connect with our client Jamie Carlson in-person at Abilities Expo Dallas in December 2024, we asked if she’d be willing to tell us a little more about her fundraising campaign with us and how she quilts for a cause while living with cerebral palsy. Read how Jamie became the "Cerebral Palsy Quilter" here:

Happy #transplant-iversary to @Dougparisano! Twelve years ago today, Doug received the ultimate gift of life: a bone marrow transplant from living donor Ben Elliott, who is featured below. While Doug was battling leukemia in Pennsylvania, Ben, a complete stranger, was in Minnesota signing up to be a bone marrow donor through the Be The Match Registry® as a wedding gift to a friend. Ben soon learned he was a perfect match for Doug, who lived some 1,300 miles away. In January 2013, Doug received the gift of life from Ben. By the end of the summer, Doug was not only in stable condition but healthy enough to go back to work. Doug, congratulations on your anniversary today. We are honored to be a part of your story.

Today we are shining the spotlight on our client Zac, who began fundraising with us in July 2024 to help him purchase an accessible vehicle. For Zac, having an accessible vehicle means being able to transfer from his wheelchair to his car for medical appointments and avoiding social isolation. Since beginning to fundraise with us, Zac's community has raised over $29,000 in his honor, which his $9,000 more than his original goal. Zac, congratulations to you and your community on this incredible achievement. We are honored to be a part of your story. Celebrating you today and every day!

A message from Executive Director Kelly L. Green: "Today, we honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., a beacon of hope and an unwavering advocate for justice and equality. At Help Hope Live, we believe in turning his dream into action. That's why we're not taking the day off—we're stepping up to serve. Our team is embracing the spirit of service, with an opportunity to earn a full day's pay for dedicating at least half the day to community service. It’s our way of amplifying hope, spreading kindness, and contributing to the greater good. Together, we are building a future that reflects the change Dr. King envisioned. So please understand if we are understaffed on this day. We will be back tomorrow, ready to continue to serve you. As Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. once famously said: 'We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.' Let’s make this day a powerful reminder of the hope that drives us forward and the collective effort it takes to build a better tomorrow."

"I am just one little person in the whole big world, and you all have made me feel so special." In November of 2024, Help Hope Live client Linsey Wisdom began fundraising with us to help offset the costs associated with her stem cell transplant. Today, Linsey's community has raised over $50,000 in her honor. Linsey credits her company, Etherio, who "overwhlmed her at their company meeting" for announcing a company match to help her reach her fundraising goal for treatment and her Oracle community for being part of her "hope" story. Congratulations, Linsey, on this amazing achievement! Cheering for you on every step of your journey.

January is Winter Sports Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Awareness Month, which is a time dedicated to raising awareness about the risks of TBIs—damage to the brain that impacts an individual's day-to-day functioning in some way—in winter sports. TBIs occur in up to 47% of skiing or snowboarding injuries and are the leading cause of death in these sports. For individuals and families facing the aftermath of a brain injury, access to resources and support is a critical lifeline—but some key resources may not be financially feasible without assistance. That's why our nonprofit is here to provide trusted medical fundraising for brain injuries and other life-impacting diagnoses. You can get brain injury financial assistance by starting a medical fundraising campaign with Help Hope Live—or share our nonprofit with someone you know who is struggling with brain injury medical and related expenses. Learn more about how to get started here:
