We are very uneducated when it comes to uncomfortable emotions. We are taught how to be polite, how to cutesy, how to celebrate, but not how to grieve, how to be angry, how to disagree, how to repair. Grief is unending, uncomfortable, and impolite.
Sometimes it’s ok for things to not be about you, wdym you won’t reach out to a friend who is grieving because you feel ‘awkward’ or you don’t know what to say

It is possible. And tbh, that's the role of sitting in suffering. You learn empathy from it. When people bypass suffering through toxic positivity, avoidance, etc, they miss the opportunity to learn what hurt feels like, imagine it with others, and show up for them too.
