i love seeing older women thrive despite a society that’s wants them to hide, constantly reminding them of the youth they’ve lost
… if only she wasn’t a literal zionist
will never not recommend this book… a witty satire of life in 30s soviet union. a big black evil cat. witches. satan in moscow. heads falling right and left. a dark comedy but also a touching love story. a perfect october pick… just saying… truly Just Saying…
sometimes there are classics you think may be slightly overhyped. ‘oh, people just say that bc it’s dostoyevsky’… that was my fear before picking up this gigantic brick but i’m glad to announce this is indeed the best piece of literature to me. changed my views on many things
btw if you are tea drinker, you might want to consider picking up rooibos or infusions instead of green and black tea when you have your period bc there is tannin in them which reduces iron absorption and that is kinda bad since you’re already losing blood 🫶🏻
@moss__mouth
omg it’s so cool that they left the whole thing instead of taking out the portrait like they did with mine. it helps visualizing how it was done way better. thanks for sharing!
woke up at 3am and couldn’t fall asleep. as i was mindlessly scrolling through tiktok, i found this very interesting concept created by @/ismellunusual: create the margiela fragrances you wish were real. and oh… ofc i had to join <3
bluebell is known as princess diana’s perfume. it smells like a walk through the woodlands, a foggy spring morning, dew still dropping off leaves, a field of fresh flowers. a solitary witch, that lives removed far off into the forest, that no one has ever seen… i must acquire it
found this indie perfume brand through tiktok and i think yall should check it out. their fragrances are inspired by cinema and they not only seem quite original, but very good. the brand is called ram’s head
i think all these new ‘dark academia’ books would be so much better if the authors focused more on the quality of their content rather than trying too hard to fit into an aesthetic
stop everything. i found IT. i need it. it’s called ‘alice and the rabbit’ after alice in wonderland which was my fav movie while growing up. tuberose, marshmallow, milk, honey, incense; all fav notes of mine. it’s fate and we shall be reunited
gonna stop telling yall anytime a coworker compliments my perfume bc it happens all the time now. i arrive and immediately an ‘you smell so good!’. my 60yo coworker happily telling me she spoke of me to her husband bc she saw a perfume ad on tv. thank you babycat
my only advice to go through Life is don’t neglect sleep. get a good quality mattress, comfortable pillows, cozy sheets. if there’s one thing u need to invest in, this is it. nothing matters more than being able to get home and rest ur head on a little cloud of a bed…
both warming and ice crisp, amore caffè isn’t the cloying fragrance you would expect it to be. well balanced, it reminds me of amaretto sours, xmas desserts, hazelnut ice cream, café gourmands, burnt sugar, a happy moment you share with ur loved ones. it’s festive. the hug u need
yes being a painter’s muse is cool but imagine being a perfumer’s one… someone loving you so deeply they are willing to capture ur essence, interpret you, reimagine you and turn all of what makes you you in their eyes into a scent… so poetic
THE perfume that made me fall in love with the art of fragrance creation. wealth in a bottle; elegant, classy, discreet. a soft aura. a sweet vanilla meets juniper berries and a few spices. smells like a woman who’s made it taking a walk in her private woods. quiet, peace, luxury
a single spray and you’re transported directly into a local indian cafe, a warm cup of chai in hands. very realistic. this is an explosion of cardamom and cinnamon that dries down into a milky, deep tea with just the right amount of sweetness. a subtle sensual rose note.
this smells like a mandarin cream and candied almonds. it reminds me of summer weddings in the south of france. iris bouquets. lactonic, delicate, soapy… a chill sunday at home kind of scent. best news? it cost me 11€
the sea at night. no sound. a peace that invites melancholy. the glass of wine you shouldn’t have had. solitude. the waves slowly crashing nearby joined by the pouring rain. cold metal. sad lilac. wine again. a fragrance that’s as fleeting as it alluring, unique. tonight’s sotd
drinks i think would make great perfume inspirations:
- strawberry matcha latte
- blanks street’s blueberry matcha latte
- espresso martini
- brown sugar boba
- a rose oolong with milk
- salted caramel creamy oolong from dammann frères
- hojicha (raw and with latte version)
rose jam. honeyed dates. caramelized nuts. baklava eaten in a rose garden. deep amber. creamy. this is a Gourmand that smells like something more refined than just sugar. i haven’t been that impressed in so long
today’s sotd goes so hard. imagine a deep vanilla, expensive leather couch, nose tickling pepper covered by a cloud of sticky honey, and blooming flowers. im almost mad i am came up with this combo for a work day
a perfume by la durée, famous for its delicious macarons. tho it isnt an olfactive echo to the pastries; inspired by french elegance, it’s described as a return to 18th century’s french court, a reference to an iris scented powder that was used by aristocratic women back then
@apitxada2
actually A LOT of all these roman sculptures that we’ve managed to save used to be painted, the temples too. the paint just didn’t survive in time
