Huge thanks, once again to the brilliant team @SouthCambs for these donations. All the presents have now been delivered to our wards, ready to bring some joy on Christmas Day 🎁
🎁🎄 Yesterday, we donated 112 Christmas presents to patients being treated on the mental health wards at Fulbourn Hospital – one of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough NHS Foundation Trust largest sites, which houses a number of mental health inpatient wards delivering care to adults and older people with a wide-range of conditions. This is the eighteenth year that gifts have been donated by staff and councillors at the Council. 💬 Cllr Peter Fane, Chair of South Cambridgeshire District Council, said: "We're delighted to once again donate gifts to the mental health inpatient wards to hopefully send a little festive comfort to those that are spending the Christmas period in hospital." ❤️ Siobhan O’ Kane, Service Manager for Springbank Ward, a recovery unit for women with a diagnosis of borderline personality disorder at Fulbourn Hospital, said: “We are extremely thankful for the gifts. Gestures like this remind our patients that despite the difficult moments they have experienced, there is someone out there who is thoughtful enough to recognise them." Our amazing CPFT volunteers - John Fawns, Sabrina Smith, Alex Kiliti, Karen Dell, Andrea Jarvis and Andrew Claxton - braved the weather to prepare our Trafford Ward garden at North Cambs Hospital ready for a redesign. Patients will soon be able to enjoy this lovely space. 👏
