Competition is for losers. You should own the only well in a desert. You are the only supplier of water. You set the price. You are the monopoly. That’s how your client should feel about your service. You’re the only one with the solution.

Why I can charge 7 times what you charge for the same service ? Your price isn’t just about what you do. it’s about how your client perceives it. Take face masks. Now it costs 4 cents per unit. During peak-covid some were 1$ per unit ! Perceived value vs Objective value.

I'm a freelancer, how should I price my service ? On time spent ? Wrong. On what it costs me to deliver ? Wrong again. Clients don’t care how long it takes or costs you. They care about the results. If you were an airline - don't sell the flight. Sell the vacation.

Freelancers: you have to understand this. No matter how skilled you are, your income is capped by your hours. Increasing your hourly rate is your only way upwards. And it is becoming harder and harder to raise your prices. You have to decouple your time from your income.
