Why does A2-B1 have to be the most difficult transition? It sucks to be at A2 because you understand quite a bit, but not enough to consume native context. It feels like all you can do is learn grammar

I hate being a low intermediate in Italian because kids shows are the only things I can understand but they’re so boring. I don’t know how to immerse without boring myself to death.

I hate being a monolingual English speaker; it’s kind of embarrassing. Hopefully one day I’ll be able to say that I’m a proficient Italian speaker. At least I’m still young, so I have lots of time to learn other languages

I wish my native language was a language that has close relatives. Being a native English speaker is a privilege in some respects, but it’s frustrating when the closest language to it (Dutch) is not as similar as French is to Italian, for example.

Maybe learning 2 romance languages at once was a mistake. I couldn’t resist starting French, though. Luckily, I haven’t confused them yet. I suppose it could be worse. I imagine that learning Spanish and Portuguese at the same time would be the most confusing. #langtwt

I’m definitely moving to Europe when I’m an adult, I’m just not sure which country I want to live in. I’ve thought about moving to Italy, partially because of my Italian roots, but I’m not a big fan of summer. It might be better for me to live in a country further north.
