FTX was backed by a16z, NEA, Tiger Global, Sequoia, SoftBank, Temasek, BlackRock and Thoma Bravo, etc. Doesn’t get more blue chip than this. Either SBF went to the dark side post investment or no one did proper DD. I’m sure I know how the story will shake out in the future.

Finally found one good reason to purchase an iPhone 15. You can use one iPhone 15 as a power bank to charge another iPhone 15.

Intuition is data, formed into patterns, sent to the brain for processing, then compared to past experiences. Intuition is not random. Someone with the experience of Warren Buffet can articulate a probable outcome better than most.

@FangYu_80168 Taiwan doesn’t have to be pro-China, but it doesn’t have to be anti-China. Definitely shouldn’t allow itself to be used as political pawn of the west.

The math on food delivery is truly astounding. 36% markup by restaurants to offset delivery service fees. Delivery fees + service fees + tips on top of the markup equates to a 75%-85% over-payment vs in-store pickup. 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

- when I deposit $100 at the bank, I expect $100 to show up in my account - when I buy a dozen pencils, I expect to get 12 in the box - when my Tesla shows 100 miles of range left, I get maybe 70-80 miles …and Elon is the richest man alive. What is the learning here?

@Chad_Hurley It sounds like the world we live in. We think we have control (one man one vote; decentralized), but the truth is control is in the hands of a few.

The biggest missed opportunity amongst US tech giants is mobile payment (like WeChat pay). I suspect that will be one of the first initiatives @elonmusk takes on with Twitter.

Now, substitute that cup with stress. Remember, prolonged clutching leads to pain. So, always allow yourself some downtime to release and rejuvenate. Holding onto stress continuously can break you - let go, breathe, heal 🌱.

Came across a powerful analogy today 🧠: •Hold a cup of water for 5 minutes, no sweat 💧. •Keep holding for 15 minutes, your arm begins to ache 💪. •Maintain the grip for 3 hours, hello neck and back pain 🤕.

@cha_myoung @CarbonHealth If the average person tests positive for 10 days, then what you’re saying is about 33 million people are positive during a ten day span, or 3 million per day. Actually quite realistic and not that surprising given the mild and asymptomatic cases.

@WholeMarsBlog 3. Several Chinese companies have built legitimate challengers to Tesla (BYD is already the #1 seller in the world). And don’t forget Apple. Once someone introduces a legitimate competitors, the switch cost becomes low.

@WholeMarsBlog Both are great companies, but Amazon has a much stronger moat. 1. To Amazon 20 years to build their fulfillment network. Who is going to invest that kind of infrastructure to compete with Amazon? Your products don’t show up in 1-2 days for no reason.

This is a fantastic explanation of missionaries vs mercenaries. I can see how most (not all) bootstrapped founders fall into the mercenary camp whereas VC-funded founders shoot for the moon.

In 2006 I was meeting with Jeff Bezos to discuss acquiring Audible when he described their founder Don Katz as “a missionary, not a mercenary.” I later learned Jeff got this framing from John Doerr, and it struck me as a good distinction when evaluating people. Here's a 🧵:
