THE STORY OF AHIJAH
Ahijah looked at the letter in his hand. He was sweating profusely. His eyes darted from left to right as he read through the umpteenth time. Slowly, his eyes move away from the letter to Joab.
And then he screamed....
My mother graduated in 1965 & got a teaching job at Government College, Ibadan.
The teachers were given car loans & she bought a brand new Opel Kadett.
They were to pay back the loan over 4 years.
However, one of the teachers took half of the money the others took as loan...
Let me add:

Husband told his wife:
"Babe, I don't like you wearing jeans to Church, please."
Wife was indignant!
"Why? Can you give me ANY REASON why I shouldn't?"
Husband: I don't like it. That should be reason enough, no?
Wife: Abeg, abeg, abeg!! Don't cage me with your insecurities!
I carried out a social experiment today.
I was walking along the pedestrian sidewalk in Utako Abuja when some cars (in a bid to avoid traffic) turned on the site walk, driving towards me.
Everybody gave way to the vehicles.
I didn't.
The driver almost hit me.
I stood my ground...
As I sat at a bus stop in London waiting for the bus, I brought out a magazine to read.
The white boy sitting next to me shouted: "Hey, look! He CAN read!" He & his 4 friends sitting next to him laughed hard!
I smiled & said, "yeah, I CAN read. I'm an Architect from Nigeria...
Today, I see too many young folks more interested in spending the money they don't have to buy the things they don't need to impress people who don't like them.
Too many people living fake lives in these days of social media.
The Hushpuppi generation: fake it till you make it...
BREAKING NEWS:
Buhari's speech was watched on TV by 4.63 Billion people in 372 countries worldwide, 2.48 Billion listened on radio & 3.39 Billion watched online.
No President's speech has ever reached such a large audience in history.
I've never been prouder to be a Nigerian!
👏🏾
When I was pursuing my Master's at ABU Zaria, my friend, Timothy Awoleye & I, the leaders of Rhema Chapel Campus Fellowship had a daring idea:
Let's invite Rev'd Sam Adeyemi
@sam_adeyemi
for a campus program!
We ran the idea by the other leaders, they thought we were mad!
😂
Seriously, we can't continue like this.
My generation is halfway out.
I am afraid for the younger generation, those aged 16-30. I honestly don't know what this world would be like when they are in their 50s & 60s.
May God's mercy prevail upon them, may He give them sense.
Amen.

@Patfinder9
Please, when you get to that drawing board, ma'am, draw a good plan that puts no unnecessary pressure on yourself.
You don't need any external validation.
Never allow people's opinions & perceptions be the yardstick for measuring your life.
You'll be fine...
😇
By the 2nd year, he bought a 2nd car to add to his taxi fleet.
By the 3rd year, he bought 2 more taxis!
By the 4th year when my mum & others finished paying their loans, this guy had 6 taxis.
Then he bought a brand new Opel Kadett, the newer model!
Other cars were 4 years old...
He had about 30 people working for him in his Construction Company including drivers, one of which was deployed to his home to drive his wife.
One day, wife was upset with the driver & she slapped him.
He slapped her back REAL HARD!
Wife called husband: "the driver slapped me!"
A friend got married to the last born in a wealthy family.
The wife had a sister & 2 brothers- 4 siblings.
Their parents were stupendously wealthy, lived in a mansion in Ikoyi.
The parents had a strange ritual:
Well, strange to my friend, but apparently not to the other in-laws..
Why park a car for 6-8 hours, when it can be making money for you?
The other teachers were stunned: suddenly, he didn't look as stupid as they thought!
Now, because of the extra income from using his car as a taxi, he was able to pay back the loan in a year...
My mum said, that was the moment they realised who was smart & who was foolish among them all.
This happened 1965-1970.
I was born 1968, in the midst of this.
That story was told me in 1979 when I entered secondary school, FGC Sokoto.
It has remained with me since then...
I asked what type does she want: she mentioned a type, I checked the price: 300k!
Now, I use an Infinix Hot 5 worth 35k, thereabouts- it was even a gift by one of my site contractors.
But this 20 year old girl wants to use a 300k phone!
Something is definitely wrong somewhere...!
I've seen people pose by cars they don't own to take pictures & post on social media.
Young people don't seem to understand discretion: the competition to outdo each other in the "I've arrived" ranking is just too much.
My niece, an undergraduate asked me to buy her a phone...
It matters not who is in Government: APC, PDP, Buhari, Atiku, Obi, Tinubu or whoever.
The summation of Nigeria as a nation is not necessarily the Government: it's the PEOPLE.
And my social experiment today showed the people are just a wild bunch of crude, uncouth & uncivil mob.
They are usually united against oppression.
But they identified with the driver breaking the law, against me trying to uphold it.
Truth be told, the problem with Nigeria is not the Government.
The problem with Nigeria is not the Police.
The problem with Nigeria is Nigerians...
I said, "so, y'all just have high school education! Interesting.
Do you know what we call folks like you in my Country?"
"No, what?"
"ILLITERATES!"
I smiled sweetly & returned to my magazine.
Needless to say, they didn't say a word again until their bus came...
But he'd just smile.
One day, one of the teachers had cause to go out of the school during school hours. He returned to report that he saw his colleague's driver using his car as taxi!
When they "reported" his driver to him, he said he was aware- that was why he hired a driver...
I posted a tweet on Saturday.
Someone responded, "I have never seen a Buharist that has sense"!
This guy doesn't KNOW me.
He has no idea who I am.
But because I support Buhari, he felt the need to throw shades at me.
I checked his profile:
He's a furniture maker in Abuja.
Ok...
It took the kings 12 years of servitude to break the yoke off their necks.
It's YOUR time to do same, sir!
Ma'am, you've circled this mountain long enough!
REBEL!
Stop this servitude!
Stop the oppression!
It's your time to be FREE!
Rebel & see God bless you!
Shalom.
🙏🏾
Bought a fairly used car & got a driver.
So, when other teachers would drive to school & park their brand new cars, his driver would drop him off in the morning & come pick him at closing.
My mum said they laughed at him, calling him "Acting Big Man" because he got a driver...
@christozem
You can sell it, buy a cheaper phone & use the extra money for something else, sir.
The day you realize your life is heading in the wrong direction is the day you get the chance to change your path.
It's never too late to change...
I decided to do some house cleaning today.
I came across a Treasure Box:
Recorded messages of
@sam_adeyemi
, all over 20 years old!
Wish I could listen to them again, unfortunately I don't have a cassette player.
The spiritual investments we made as Young Ministers...
Sigh.
😇
@royaljosh
I think it's the other way round, sir:
The Nigerian politician wasn't born a politician: he was born a Nigerian FIRST.
He learnt indiscipline, lawlessness & anyhowness a a Nigerian BEFORE he became a politician.
The Lawless Driver today becomes a Lawless Senator tomorrow.
All through the 20 minutes of the Utako incident with the driver, not ONE person saw things my way.
Not ONE person was enlightened enough to understand the pedestrian sidewalk is for PEDESTRIANS.
Until we understand these simple lessons in civics, we won't go far as a Nation...
It's interesting to note the average Nigerian talks about how those in the corridors of power oppress the people.
He talks about how those in government are fantastically corrupt.
But if he ever gets the opportunity to be in power, he'll do the exact thing he condemns!
As we go on in our Christian walk, let's not major in the minor & minor in the major.
The anointing does not come by effizy & drama.
For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance (packaging), but the LORD looks on the heart.- 1st Samuel 16:7
Shalom!
😇
They are angry at the Police.
They are angry at everything.
They are the "EndSARS" people.
They are the "Buhari Must Go" crew.
They are the "What is Osinbajo doing" mob.
The are the "Naira is Useless" folks.
But they don't see the irony in their action against me...
After being a Christian for over 30 years, after attending church regularly for about 25 years (I take church sabbatical for a few years once in a while), after being in leadership positions in churches a few times, after having to leave churches because of thing I saw...
I honestly think women need to be LESS into their friends, siblings, parents & even their children & be MORE into their husbands.
After all, you're ONE with him, not with anyone else: his opinion should take preeminence over anyone else's in your life.
My opinion, anyway...
😐
@Nenabekee
Lol!
A friend got married in Lagos.
A month later, he had to go to Ibadan for a few days.
He asked his wife to pack his bag
Wife: "Why? You're the one traveling, not me. Pack your stuff, abeg!"
Friend: my mum packed my dad's stuff when he's travelling!
Wife: so...?
😂
I worked in a Bank from 2005 to 2010.
I was the architect in charge of the North East Zone, covering Adamawa, Borno, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Taraba & Yobe States.
I designed & supervised the construction of the bank's branches in these States.
I spent a lot of time on the road...
The driver drove off.
The people stood there, jeering at me.
I stood there, taking it all in: I wanted them to have their fill.
To them, they have just carried out justice!
Silly, frustrated old man!
Now, these are the average Nigerian masses.
They are angry at the Government...
I had a talk with a Pastor friend and his wife yesterday.
It was their son's 12th birthday, so I paid them a visit.
The talk naturally got to God & the Nigerian Presidential Election.
Like a lot of Nigerian Pastors, they supported Peter Obi, so Tinubu's victory upset them...
I became a Christian on the 29th of November, 1987.
I was a undergraduate student.
Yesterday made it 33 years!
All these years, God has been faithful to me.
He's kept me through depression, through a divorce, through 2 suicide attempts...
He's set my feet on the Rock:
JESUS.
People in the vehicles in the hold up also joined in verbally:
"Baba! Why are you embarrassing yourself in public? Don't you have shame?"
(I actually don't have shame)
It's not about ME, guys. It's about this driver driving on the pedestrian sidewalk!
The mob came for me...
A friend traveled abroad, leaving his kids at home.
I was in the house with the kids yesterday & they said, "Mr Harry! Please, call Daddy! We want to talk to Daddy!"
So I put a call across to my friend.
"My guy, how far?"
"Harry!"
"I dey your house, your kids wan talk to you..."
I support APC.
I am rooting for Tinubu to be the next President of Nigeria.
He is MY CHOICE.
A friend asked me, "Have you read the exposé on him about his drugs deals?"
I replied I have.
"So, why are you still supporting him?"
I referred him to a statement by Bishop Kukah...
Earlier today, this guy came to deliver iron rods on my site.
As his boys were offloading them, we got talking.
Naturally, the gist got to Politics.
He said, "Peter Obi won the election clearly!"
I asked him, "where are you from?"
He's from the East.
Then I asked him:
ASIWAJU BOLA AHMED TINUBU with Abacha & MKO Abiola in 1993 (30 years ago), long before a lot of folks on Twitter were born.
Do you notice his cap?
Do you see the ♾️ logo?
No be today...
That friend got divorced 2 years later & is married to that Side Chick today.
I think as men grow older, we're less into LOVE, but more into RESPECT.
We'll rather be with women who RESPECT us but don't LOVE us than be with women who LOVE us but don't RESPECT us...
Yesterday, I took a Bolt Ride from Arepo to Lekki
As I stood, waiting for the Car, I saw 2 young ladies hoping to get a ride to Lekki too, so I asked them to join me in the Bolt Ride.
The car pulled up a while later and we got in: they sat at the back, I sat in the front seat...
She looked into his eyes and realised he was dead serious.
They didn't go on vacation again that year.
The wife learned a lesson that day.
Mike Murdock says:
"There's a KING and a FOOL in every man: it is the one you TALK to that will RESPOND to you."
@Ugoo_Chinwuba
Don't EVER allow yourself to be under any unnecessary pressure, son.
You're not under any obligation to live up to anyone's expectations.
Don't live your life based on someone else's script.
It's YOUR life, not theirs, please...
These are experiences some men I know personally have with their spouses.
And I have come to realize that while wives probably say "the most important human being in my life is my husband!", their actions suggest otherwise.
The irony here is they're very unaware of this.
Because they want the TIGER at home to sleep before they get there!
They're fed up with her, but are too weak to do anything about it.
That's why Scripture says "It’s better to live alone in the corner of an attic than with a quarrelsome wife in a lovely home."
-Proverbs 25:24
He honked.
"Oga, commot for road!"
No, sir.
This is the pedestrian walk way.
You should go back to the road.
"Are you blind? You no see traffic?"
I see it sir, but that doesn't give you the right to drive on the pedestrian sidewalk, sir.
A man & a woman came down...
A friend had some challenges at work. He called up his mother to tell her.
That night, his father called him.
"Son, I understand you have a problem at work. Did you tell your wife?"
"No, dad."
"Why?"
"I don't her to worry. You know women."
"Why did you tell mine then?"
😁😁😁
"By the time we're done demarketing Nigeria, nobody will want to touch Nigeria with a long pole, talk less about investing in the Country!"
Oga ooo! All because you lost an Election.
People have been losing elections since 1999, nobody's supporters have gone this far...
I have a Master's Degree in Architecture. Do YOU know what Architecture is?"
"Yes, mate! You design houses, right?"
"Good! So, what do YOU do? What's the level of YOUR education?"
"High school!"
I asked the next boy.
"High school!"
And the next.
"High School!"
All 5 of them...
"She didn't put up a fight & ask, "why shouldn't I go?"
I had no reason for asking her not to go, but I was shocked she just agreed not to!"
Mike Murdock says, "There's a KING & a FOOL in every man: it's the one you talk to that responds to you!"
WOMEN NEED TO KNOW THIS.
The woman said, "Respect yourself ooo! If not for the white hair I see, I for deal with you!"
But ma'am, your driver is in the wrong.
Your anger should be directed at him, ma'am.
After a while, about 30 people gathered.
They all saw me as an irritant old man causing trouble...
I read a scripture this morning & it made me reflect deeply... 🤔
"Sheshan had no sons, only daughters. He had an Egyptian servant named Jarha, to whom he gave one of his daughters in marriage..."
1 Chronicles 2:34-35.
Let me break this down for better understanding...
I've been following
@Omojuwa
for about 8 years now.
He followed back today.
He probably followed me back because of the CONTENT of my tweets, not because I tweeted, "kfb".
To all who follow me & tweet "kfb", it's not necessary- if you tweet good content, you'll be followed!
😇
I was pushed around, someone slapped me, I saw anger & bile in the eyes of the mob.
I tried to EXPLAIN to them why I'm actually NOT wrong in this incident, the driver on the pedestrian sidewalk is the offender here.
They wouldn't have any of that!
They pushed me out of the way...
3 Sundays later, Pastor asked all Church Workers to wait behind for a meeting.
Husband was a Counsellor, Wife was an Usher.
Both attended the meeting.
Pastor: I want you Church Workers to stop wearing jeans to Church, please.
Wife stopped wearing jeans to Church.
@Patito702
I worked in a bank 2005-10.
I never bought anything on credit.
When those hawks come, I tell them, "when I left my house this morning, I didn't plan to buy any shirt/shoes:
I don't buy anything on impulse!"
I never took a loan, I resigned in 2010 & walked away debt-free...
😎
In 1998, a friend of mine, Olumide Bankole "Banky" was the Chief Architect at Housing Corporation, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
He was an architect like me, we were in the university together.
We were age mates (30 years old).
The Chief Architect retired & Banky was appointed...
Some years ago, I was working on a site.
I had workers I needed to pay that day.
I gave the money to their boss to pay them & I left.
Next day, I came back to supervise the work.
As I was leaving, the workers asked me for their money!
Woah!
I told them I had given their boss...
Husband: that witch who took you away from your husband's side has a broom: you can both fly on it back home, no?
If the broom can't carry 2 witches, take Uber!
You shouldn't have left your husband at a party he didn't want to go to in the first place!
I engaged an Obidient today.
He's been very vocal about retrieving their "Stolen Mandate".
I asked if he believed Obi won the election.
"Yes! He was rigged out!"
Ok.
Let's try to be less hysterical and emotional and take a logical and analytical look at it, shall we...?
☺️
These seemingly "little things" mean a whole lot to men.
But because men want PEACE, they'll probably let these issues slide most times.
In Example
#5
, the man had reached his breaking point, hence that reaction.
When the others reach theirs, they WILL react too, trust me!
So I'm on a site in Arepo.
I have workers all over the place: iron benders, carpenters, labourers, bricklayers, etc.
I stood by, watching the bricklayers work.
One of them called out to a labourer to bring him more mortar.
"Bring cement! Màálu!"
"Màálu"means COW in Yoruba...

@DrJoeAbah
@ExploreLegend
@BAyonote
Question: if someone else who doesn't have Dr Joe Abah's clout complains, will he get same service?
Will
@BAyonote
visit him with his team & "apologise profusely"?
Until someone else who doesn't have Dr Joe Abah's influence gets same treatment, nobody should be impressed.
🙄
Today's experience made me realize I CAN DO MORE!
No be everything be Church, no be everything be Bible.
You don't have to be a Christian or a Church person to have HOPE in your Country.
PLEASE, let's all join hands to make our society better:
HELP THE YOUTH!
Shalom.
😇
It's another thing to experience the power of the Holy Spirit.
Paul wrote, "My teachings & messages were not delivered with skilful words of human wisdom, but with convincing proof of the POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT."
1 Corinthians 2:4.
The power of the Holy Spirit!
💪🏾
I had a talk with this guy at the Polling Station.
He follows me on Twitter.
He said, "So you're going to vote for BAT! I'm disappointed you're supporting a Muslim/Muslim ticket!"
I told him he shouldn't be disappointed in me: I didn't appoint him in the first place...
@es_sada_
The owner probably saw such a roof abroad
He's unaware their roofs could be this steep because of snow.
I'm an architect, I meet clients who want such roofs. I tell them it's unnecessary: we don't have snow here!
Some still insist and we go ahead:
I need their money, biko...
😁
Your packaging doesn't convert the unbeliever: the power of the Holy Spirit does.
Too much emphasis is on the ephemeral these days- the physical church: the comfort, the ambience, the seats, PA system, rug, air conditioning, lighting effects, musical instruments, etc...
When I was in Architecture School, the German Professor I trained under told us a story in class:
As a young student, he applied to the Bauhaus to study design & was invited for an entrance examination.
He got there to meet hundreds of others who were also invited...
😊
The world is now filled with minimalism, plastic, and chrome... but once upon a time it wasn't.
Something like this doorhandle, designed by Walter Gropius, looks like our standard modern aesthetic, but at the time this sort of thing was, strange as it sounds, revolutionary.
But Rev'd Sam Adeyemi made me realize that evening these things don't matter.
He preached to a packed hall under very uncomfortable circumstances, with devastating results.
At the end, nobody remembered there was no electricity:
The power of the Holy Spirit made the difference.
Demonstration of the power of the Holy Spirit!
Enough of motivational speeches.
Enough of "Wisdom Keys"
Enough of "Desire to perspire to acquire".
Enough of the Armani suits, Prada shoes & Gucci ties.
Jesus said, "unless you see signs, you won't believe"- John 4:48
@akinalabi
The irony of this story is, Buhari, Atiku, APC, PDP have NOTHING to do with this.
It is our NIGERIANNESS that is killing us, not necessarily the politicians.
After all, Akin is a politician, but the Nigerianness of that community cost them a transformer & a better life...
🙄
He's never been to Sokoto, Zamfara, Kebbi, Niger, Kwara, Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Yobe, Gombe, Bauchi, Plateau, Nasarawa, Benue, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Katsina & Kogi States.
But he somehow believes Peter Obi won there (because of Datti)!
Just offload my iron rods & go, biko...
🙄
And a lot of times, they would have gotten a side chick who shows them more RESPECT.
A friend had a Side Chick.
She told him, "I'm going to see a movie with my friends on Saturday!"
He replied, "Don't go!"
Her response? "Ok!"
He told me, "Harry, I was shocked! She just agreed!"
2 men want to be President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
One is going from CNN to Harvard to Oxford for interviews, seminars & lectures.
The other is meeting with Niger Delta militants, NURTW leadership, aggrieved opposition politicians, grassroots movement blocs...
Some years ago, I posted a thread on a Social Experiment I carried out at Utako, Abuja.
I was walking on the side walk FOR PEDESTRIANS.
A vehicle drove off the road (because of the traffic jam) to the side walk.
I refused to leave the sidewalk for him.
The driver got angry...

Husband is uncomfortable with his wife's friend.
"I don't like your friend, Angela! I want you to tacitly withdraw from her."
Wife was livid!
"I've known Angela since we were 8, much longer than I've known you! What's your issue with her? You can't choose friends for me!"
Moshood Kashimawo Abiola ran for the office of the President of Nigeria in the early 90s on the platform of Social Democratic Party, SDP.
His opponent was Bashir Tofa of the National Republican Convention, NRC.
I remember Abiola was on a live TV interview on NTA...
@APCNigeria
Lol!
When anyone tells me, "I'm disappointed in you", I always respond, "I never appointed you in the first place!"
Truth be told, nobody is under any obligation to live up to your expectations...
😁😁😁
2 months later, husband & wife visited wife's mum.
Wife's mum: I saw Angela in a very revealing dress last week, her breasts were practically hanging out!
I'm no more comfortable with you being friends with that woman: stop hanging out with her!
Wife: Ok, mummy. I won't again.
@Sunday36765856
@miftahudeenA
The biggest shock for me was the Reception organised for James Ibori by the Delta State Government after his release form a UK jail.
A man robs you blind, got jailed for it- & on his release from jail, you threw a party for him, welcoming him with open arms!
Madness.
🙄
@Chekwube_
I guess El Rufai will be justified if he finds you and nobody sees you again.
After all, you made a mockery of him, calling him a midget.
And he sure has some power...
If Big Brother were a Reality Show where housemates are judged on their intelligence & wisdom, where they're tasked on business ideas, entrepreneurship, governance & leadership skills, where the housemates don't kiss or have sex;
Honestly, will YOU still find it entertaining?
🤔
Some years ago, I was in the company of the Lagos State Commissioner of Physical Planning, a senior colleague, Architect Kayode Anibaba.
As we drove through Ikeja, he noticed a Church property that had extended its building to the fence: no setbacks!
The Commissioner sighed...
Husband: She's come visiting you with 3 different men in the last 8 months, she introduces each one as her boyfriend. I just think a woman who changes men so quickly...
Wife: Let my friend be, please! She's NOT under ANY obligation to live up to YOUR moral standards!
Kingsley Moghalu was a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank.
He later went into Politics & ran for the Office of the President.
He campaigned and did all he could.
Then his Party (ADC) held a Presidential Primaries Election to pick their Presidential Candidate...

@TiwaSavage
@THEBEAT999FM
@kallyjoe
Lol!
It works both ways sir- you didn't say hello to her either.
Not greeting anyone is not discourteous.
What is discourteous is greeting someone and not getting a response.
😊
There's a general belief amongst Nigerian Christians about the February 25th Presidential Election I find very amusing.
They somehow believe God's Will is for Peter Obi to be the next President of Nigeria.
For many of them, their Pastors told them so: he/she heard from God...
