Ok no I actually kind of love this. Some fish actually do have that ‘bump’, so it’s not something they made up. It’s clever. It gives us a visual signal without giving the character human features (like tits on birds). And they didn’t give mom any ‘feminine’ features.

We broke Crunchyroll, the legal streaming site for the show, multiple times. We watched legally.
As for merch, Hot Topic was inundated with YOI merch for months in the US, and in Japan it was literally one of the top ten highest grossing franchises OVERALL in 2017.
It’s absolutely insane to me that people are trying to rewrite history to say that Yuri on Ice fans didn’t buy merch or watch the show legally. I don’t believe you were in this fandom at the time if you think that.

It's bcoz Fuku Noda, the animation producer of Yuri on ice recently left mappa. That's probably the main reason why this got canceled. The person responsible for Yuri on ice is not at mappa anymore.
