I decided to end the relationship with a long-time client when they attempted to coerce me into signing a manipulative ‘relationship agreement’ and ‘loan agreement.’ The terms were highly unreasonable, including a very low monthly payment in exchange for restricting my ability to work or have personal relationships. The entire situation felt unethical, and I couldn’t continue a professional relationship under those conditions.
