I just arrived in Miami coincidentally, and my Uber was a Venezuelan woman who was on the phone with her immigration lawyer as I entered the car. We talked over the ride, and she told me she was on TPS. She entered legally eight years ago and was seeking to get a green card through her job, but the process was taking a long time (EB-3). Allowing TPS to expire would take that possibility from her. She was about to cry. She was college educated and had one kid in college. Rescinding TPS does nothing to "enforce the law". TPS is lawful. And given the reality that there are 1.3 million people waiting deportations and 600K convicted criminals, why would DHS add to the list hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Venezuelans who will end up in immigration courts for years only to not even be deported? Remember, Maduro isn't about to take these people back, there are no flights. And those he will take, he will torture.
