Infuriating to take our taxable income and pay 22% of it while tallying the fraud, waste, and funneling of monies that's being discovered - BILLIONS - and it's only the tip of the iceberg. Taxes are done and paid, but it was hard to hit submit knowing how the American taxpayers have been played for decades. DECADES. By all parties. I have long said that if everyone had to sit down at the end of the month/quarter/year and actually write checks, the demand for accountability on the part of our elected officials would have been insistent. The concept of taking it before you even see it is a clever slight of hand - and refunds are a trick to keep us complacent. I don't care who you voted for or whether you're blue or red or purple on that map - we should all be demanding massive change and force accountability for every penny spent by our government - going back to the beginning. This might be the only chance we get - and then we need to see massive change from how it's been done.
