If it's not broken – then break it! It was great to open day 2 of #AgriLeaderForum25, challenging the room with a simple but powerful idea: "If it's not broken – then break it!" In farming, as in any industry, it’s easy to stick with what’s always worked. But real progress happens when we step out of our comfort zones, challenge the status quo and embrace new ways of thinking. That’s exactly what the AgriLeader Forum is all about—bringing levy payers together to hear from renowned experts, like @kat_gamechanger, Gemma Krasucka, and high-performance coach Anna Mosley, who bring insights from outside of agriculture, and apply fresh ideas to their businesses This mindset also underpins what I’m driving forward as CEO of @TheAHDB —ensuring we’re constantly innovating, adapting, and challenging the norm to build a more resilient, future-focused industry. 👏Huge credit to the team for delivering such a standout event— @AgriIzak, @mdhcampbell, and Gemma Beevers! 📸Kevin Milner

Promoting @TheAHDB research and analysis to support the success of our industry is a vital part of my role as CEO. I was delighted to meet with @amcarmichaelMP, Chair of the @CommonsEFRA, to discuss how AHDB’s critical insights can benefit policymakers. We explored key topics such as the impact of climate change and adaptation, as well as opportunities for exporters through emerging trade agreements. At AHDB, we’re committed to ensuring our evidence informs meaningful debates on the future of our industry, helping stakeholders make well-informed decisions.

It was great to take part in @FarmersWeekly Question Time panel hosted by @johanntasker at @oxfordfarming, joining an excellent group of fellow panellists - @Minette_Batters, @AliceGroom2, Matt Lobley, and Oli Fletcher - for an engaging and thought-provoking discussion. The session focused not just on the current challenges facing our industry but also on the opportunities ahead. Some highlights of the discussion: 👉Opportunities for agriculture: the growing consumer support for British farming and the success of promoting and selling more British red meat and dairy to global markets. 👉Tackling climate change: the progress of @TheAHDB Environment Baselining Pilot, which is helping the industry quantify its environmental impact and demonstrate its vital role in addressing this critical issue. 👉Farmers as business leaders: with the right support, farmers are resilient, navigating challenges such as unpredictable weather and its impact on our growers, while continuing to adapt and innovate to meet the unprecedented changes in our sector. Bringing together diverse voices and perspectives in forums like this is key to helping our industry adapt, innovate, and thrive in the face of uncertainty. Thank you to Farmers Weekly and everyone involved in organising such an important discussion. #FWQuestionTime #OFC25

It’s been a fantastic experience at @sial_paris! 13 companies have joined @TheAHDB to proudly showcase UK beef, lamb, and pork, with our team also supporting UK dairy businesses. In 2023, UK red meat and dairy exports hit £1.7B and £1.8B, respectively. Exports play a crucial role in balancing the carcase, allowing us to maximise global opportunities. #SIALParis is the perfect platform to connect with buyers and showcase what makes our products world-class. The collaboration between AHDB, industry, and government is driving incredible progress, and we’re excited to continue building export opportunities worldwide! @jono_eckley tells us more...

Looking back on last week's UK Dairy Showcase, I’m filled with immense pride and gratitude for what the @TheAHDB team accomplished. The energy and excitement from buyers and exporters were palpable as we celebrated the excellence of British dairy and everything it has to offer. It was potentially one of the largest gatherings of dairy exporters and export customers ever seen in the UK, marking a major milestone for our industry. The Dairy Showcase provided the perfect platform to share the very best of the UK dairy sector. From visiting farms and processors to enjoying the skills of cheese sommeliers, each experience was a valuable opportunity to connect, build, and gain first-hand experience of the farm-to-fork story of British dairy produce. The gala reception was a fantastic conclusion with over 320 one-on-one business meetings where new relationships were formed and existing ones were strengthened. A huge thank you to the AHDB team for their hard work and passion, and for their collaboration with industry, government, and key stakeholders. Your dedication made this event a remarkable success!
