It would seriously have made a lot more sense if Ben and Rey both held the sabers together as a Force Dyad, killed Palpatine, then died side by side. Then the Force ghosts all come and give up their Force manifestation to bring them back to life. Would've connected all trilogies.

Rian Johnson, who had to fight tooth and nail to get where he is, wrote Rey as her own person and not who she was related to. He showed us power can come from anyone and not just lineage, and her character was made all the better for it. More human and more relatable.
