New paper out from the lab! Congrats to @Hatoon_Bkeerah and all the co-authors!
Congratulations @Hatoon_Bkeerah, our team members @MET_HSPH, and collaborators @oergonul1, @weirdvirus, @eyilmaz20 and @CrescentaBio for this surprising and exciting discovery, describing FABP4 as a host factor that determines coronavirus infectivity by controlling virus-induced organelle remodeling, pulmonary responses, and tissue damage. Importantly, genetic or chemical targeting of FABP4 diminishes viral titers in multiple systems and protects lungs against infection in vivo. Lastly, this strategy is effective against all tested variants including common corona virus infection. 👏🧿

A subpopulation of sympathetic neurons innervated in white adipose tissue can induce lipolysis through oxytocin, the "love hormone", and has important functions in lactation. Can you hypothesize the significance of lipolysis during lactation? #journalclub

A bittersweet “see you later” to @KaceyPrentice as she departs to the University of Toronto to begin her journey as an Assistant Professor with the Department of Physiology. She will be missed dearly, but we look forward to seeing what she’ll accomplish. Good luck to you Kacey!
