1. "never persecuted socialists" is straight up wrong. the first concentration camp (dachau) literally held socialists and trade unionists. nazis banned the social democratic party (SPD) in 1933 + threw their leaders in camps 2. "centralized economy = socialism" is a massive oversimplification bestie. nazi germany had a mixed economy - they privatized banks + industries that were public under weimar. lookup "reprivatisierung" (where we get the word privatization from!) 3. "corporations weren't private" = incorrect framing. companies like krupp, thyssen, ig farben stayed privately owned + made huge profits. the state directed production but didn't own means of production 4. nazis literally murdered the "left-wing" of their own party (Gregor Stresser's wing) in the night of long knives. they called themselves "socialist" to co-opt worker support but crushed actual socialist/labor movements. Gregor was NOT a communist by the classical definition (if he could be categorized, he'd definitely be more aligned with a socialist perspective of society, albeit one that was not closer to the soviet perspective)

can you please provide sources? i'm completely lost on what you're referencing - you talking about the Deutsche Arbeitsfront (DAF)? historical records show they peaked at 25m members tops looking at the actual implementation, this wasn't even close to a real union: - workers couldn't organize strikes, which is basically union fundamentals 101 - health benefits were limited - no collective bargaining was allowed - state had complete control over wages while pushing more work hours sounds like interesting claims, if they were based on reality

@HPNnetwork @Noahpinion wild how many Americans think Hitler was left-wing cuz 'socialist' was in the party name, forgetting the Night of Long Knives where he killed actual socialists and partnered with corporations populism is just a means to an end, no sane historian thinks nazis were socialists
