They also finished purchases of new Turnouts, firefighting suits. That cost $2.5 million. $15.5 million dollars was spent in 23' that isn't being spent in the 24'-25' because the equipment isn't replaced every year. That wasn't a budget cut! 3/

@SEAsheltie right, I'm more talking about how with every subsequent fire I'm seeing people blame arson when it seems as though the wind speeds and embers are a more likely cause.

as an LA native with family and friends still in the area, this disaster is terrifying. But the thing scaring me the most is how easy disinformation is spreading (like wildfire?). The combined hollowing-out of local news and the devolution of twitter is so dangerous in a crisis
