My lovely Granda passed away in his sleep last night. He spent the past 10 years heartbroken for my Nanny. I’ll be taking a break from pestering you all about Christmas over the weekend. Then normal order will resume. Here they are in happier times 💕 back together again.
Imagine using a Petition of Concern against an Integrated Education Bill. Say it out loud, can you imagine it!? Choosing Integrated Education for my kids was the best thing I ever did.
As has become a little annual tradition of mine, a tribute to the woman who managed to knock heads together and get the job done. Remembering Mo Mowlam on the 23rd anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement.
What’s happening in America is shocking - Land of the Free and all that. But just a wee reminder to y’all - we’ve still no services in the Western Trust. Women from NI still have to travel to GB to access healthcare. Solidarity - Ní Saoirse go Saoirse na mBan
If you replied to my tweet about the Integrated Education Bill earlier either patronising me, questioning my parenting choices, demanding to know my reasoning for choosing Integrated Education or just generally being a melt - I’ve blocked you. Work away.

(right down to the Kraft paper and black and white ink) I’ve decided to document this year’s summer holidays. Last before my youngest goes to big school...
I love Enniskillen right, but I just paid £8.40. Eight whole shiny pounds and 40 of my own pence for 2 gingerbread men and an apple turnover. No wonder the high street is fecked. Daylight robbery!
I don’t want to read a single thing about how Paddy Kielty isn’t the right choice for the Late Late. That was absolutely brilliant, heartfelt and genuine. Nordies Abú!
Not going to lie, with a baby sister recently emigrated to Aus, and the thought of following her out there never far from my mind - this was a very powerful speech. Not sure I’ve ever heard a politician talk about bringing our folk home before…

Just caught up with last nights Derry Girls thanks to - quite aptly - being at 1st Holy Communion last night. T’was perfect. So emotional - let’s keep those times as Ghost Stories.
A recent commission: ‘I’m not buying them for you’ll only eat them.’ An illustration remembering a late Mamaí who used to say this to her daughter when out shopping for biscuits - such an Irish Mamaí thing to say!
It is taking all my willpower not to make a mile long thread of tweets while listening to Nolan right now. Immensely impressed with Tamara Bronckaers. It took immense bravery to stand up to that boys club, she deserves every penny.
This Mother’s Day / International Women’s Day weekend, my thoughts are with the Women of Palestine. There isn’t enough space here to outline the horrors they are enduring, if they have been spared. This new piece was inspired by an old photo (more in next post)…

My wee girl’s school has an eco team that is elected every year. She’s dying to be on it but hasn’t yet made it. Today she went into school armed with these to put together her own ‘Eco Club’ 💚 Just picked her up, she’s got 17 members on day one! No stopping her!
I don’t share my commissions enough, so here’s another, created with good old fashioned watercolour and ink. Cathy asked me to help mark her time at Enniskillen Integrated Primary School for her retirement last month…1/2
Apologies for the sound of dog’s feet in the background - but lookit - it’s so pretty!
I’ve still to price them and add them to Etsy and have a big presentation for my counselling course amarach BUT I’ll get them on as soon as I can!
Well lucky me got to experience some of the 'other' side of twitter/X last night after posting a piece of artwork. Everything from being called a whore to saying the art is shit...thank goodness for the block button. I don't know how those of you who get this every day stick it.
And a little sneaky peek for you lovely lot of a new design for Mother’s Day… for all those Mnáwesome Mamaís out there! Not online yet - but will be by the end of this month. What do you think?
In October 2020 my siblings and I stood outside the chapel to watch the funeral of my 20 year old cousin. On a phone. We weren’t allowed in. The priest at the graveyard told the crowd gathered to disperse. But a leaving do in No.10 was ‘necessary’ for work.
Winter Solstice Blessings to you all ✨ No new work for today - but I’ll have some to share over Christmas. I’ll leave you with the Cailleach today - Winter Queen and ancient old crone. I love how many of you have taken her to your hearts & bought prints 🤍
To celebrate opening my Etsy shop next Saturday (29th Jan) I am giving away a set of 4 of my illustrated Mugs! Just *RT this post, *comment below so I don’t miss you and *follow me if you don’t already. I’ll pick a name at random on Opening day!
@MrHanlon2
I made these after my little girl panicked one morning because she’d have to bring a green water bottle to school. She said she’d be made fun of for having a ‘boy colour.’ Never had this issue before starting school. Peer power is 🤯
Exciting times ahead! I’m officially going back to school to study Counselling in September. I’ve seen 1st hand how arts & crafts can be beneficial to mental health, so I’m going to go and learn some more 💚
Me and
@Garethknox
are 10 years married today! We were married in Basilica di San Silvestro in Rome, we are here again today and called by to take a look. What do you know but the priest who married us was still there!
I’ve worked with a really special charity based in Lurgan for a wee while now, and met many incredible, strong, brave women. Their courage knows no bounds

So…I got a thing made ages ago. Been waiting for some sunshine to take a decent photo. Needless to say it’s the one bit of this job I do not like!
#photofail
Will try again…sometime.
Somewhere between heartbroken and absolutely livid. I’ve been watching this tree since this development on the Sligo Rd began as I just KNEW it wouldn’t survive.
@fermanaghomagh
are you doing ANYTHING to protect our natural heritage?!
@KayeSteinsapir
Kaye, I’ve been following your story from a few days after Molly’s accident. My heart has broken for you twice over now. Know that you are in my thoughts. You have been treated appallingly.
Margaret Keenan, living in Coventry, originally from Enniskillen becomes the first person to get the Covid vaccine. It’s so absolutely typical that a Fermanagh person mentions that they are in fact from Fermanagh...under any and every circumstance. I love it.
My little activist sat up last night to write a speech to run for Student Council, only to find out today you only get one go at running for something (She was on the Eco Team last year). So bloody proud of her though - yes I helped spell ‘patriarchy’…
My little activist strikes again! This time she’s donating her hair and fundraising for The Little Princess Trust so that a little girl in need can have hair as fabulous as hers (pic for evidence of fabulousness) Please consider donating or sharing!
My eldest was 10 yesterday. This evening my house was filled with ten 10 year old girls and it was one of the most joyous, life affirming evenings I’ve had. It was genuinely brilliant.
I’ve always loved this quote, but hearing it today spoken by he first female Republican First Minister in the Stormont Assembly was something else. Comhghairdeas
@moneillsf
A couple of new prints for St Brigid’s Day…and I’ve some other newness on the way over the next few days too. Hoping to have all on Etsy by next week 💚
Just saw that it’s the 14th Anniversary of Mo Mowlam’s death. I know I’ve posted these before, but can’t not do it again. Some woman for one woman.

I’m going to be working on putting together an Etsy shop together over the next wee while so I’ve been thinking of what to put in it. What do we think of these…? Could you see yourself suppin’ tae out of one of these?
Up early watching my baby sister graduate in Melbourne, Australia. It’s way past time we made this place work so our best and brightest don’t feel the need to leave for further shores. 💔
Happy New Year you lovely lot. A little treat to bring in the new year - give the poem a good read - ‘Pangur Bán,’ with accompanying translation from the original 9th Century Irish by Seamus Heaney. May we all find such inspiration in the seemingly mundane in 2023.
I’m a bit quieter than normal this weather, summer holidays - kids are home and I’m taking things a bit slower. But I’m still here working away in the background…like today - a wee gift for my Girls that I designed but never got round to making 😉
Remembering Mo Molam on the 22nd anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement. From everything I’ve heard from folks who were there and read since, she was instrumental in the whole process.
Nollaig Shona Daoibh! It’s been a strange end to the year, a lot of sorrow and hard times around and about. Counting my blessings to be able to put two excited heads to bed this evening safe and sound. Wishing you all a peaceful Christmas 💚
Not me crying over a microwave.
My Nana bought me and my husband this 15 years ago when we moved into our first house together in Belfast. Tonight it caught fire and that is finally the end of that. Funny how things connect you.
I can’t actually believe I’m reading that the Assembly voted down a bill to ban hunting with dogs. I can’t believe it’s still legal here. It’s barbaric and disgusting and anyone who enjoys this ‘sport’ really needs to take a good long hard look at themselves.
Bealtaine Blessings to you! I have a new piece to share with you today - Áine: Sun Goddess, Fairy Queen and I suggest, Protector of Women. I’ll share the whole picture later when I have a bit more time to put her story together.m ✨
I am planning on holding a SALE this week! I’ve a hape of paper that I printed on the wrong side of 🙈 when I 1st got it. I’m going to print on the right side this time. So prints will still be of the same high quality - there’ll just be a wrong ‘un on the back. Watch this space!
As promised, a new piece of work to share with you today to celebrate Oiche Samhna. One of the most complex of Irish mythological Queens, three people and one, all at once. Battle Furey, War Goddess and Prophesier of Doom: The Morrigan. Oiche Samhna Shona daoibh!
Beautiful moon over Tucker Street, Castlebar last night. The street was closed from 6pm to accommodate outdoor dining, what a beautiful night for it. 🌝

Early at it this morning getting last weekend’s sale orders ready. I didn’t expect such a huge response, so thank you for your patience while I get your orders made up.
NEW-ish! Bealtaine blessings to you all. New for today is an updated full colour version of Áine. Usually associated with mid-summer but sure what’s a few weeks between friends!
Been busy…doing nothing really 🙈 Nah 3pm til now is the kids time - so another late Artwork Escapism for ya. I’ve given up counting! A commission. An homage to

Right, it’s all too depressing… all of it. I’m going to share a piece of art every day til I run out of things to share. A bit of a timeline cleanser. If it’s available on Etsy I’ll share the link too, though some of it won’t be. Here’s the 1st one, Áine - Fairy Queen ✨
I have just spent the loveliest morning doing yoga, making St. Brigid’s crosses, listening to folklore and eating delicious home made food at the Aurora Yoga Studio’s Imbolc retreat. Find them on Insta
@aurorayogastudioni
Absolutely blissful morning.
I can *finally* announce Gráinne Knox Art
@Etsy
will be opening at noon on the 29th January - my bday - so double celebrations! 🎉🍾 I’ll have original art prints and some lovely mugs to start off with - I’ll share some over the next wee while until opening ❤️
So, you are all class. Thank you for all the lovely messages and kind words. I've deleted the post, not because I don't stand by it but the grossness underneath it was too much to leave there. I've locked my account for a bit, but will be back to usual soon.💚
Well lucky me got to experience some of the 'other' side of twitter/X last night after posting a piece of artwork. Everything from being called a whore to saying the art is shit...thank goodness for the block button. I don't know how those of you who get this every day stick it.
Alright folks, my Etsy Christmas Launch will start this FRIDAY at 7pm! So you can put your feet up, pour a glass of wine and browse til your heart’s content. To say thank you for all your support and general fabulousness this year I’m throwing in a FREE tote bag with each order!
