@KneidlachJenner Yes that’s what I was thinking. Large families there that needed the extra space, leading to well designed extensions giving more floorspace while fitting in their surroundings - same principles could be applied to increase floorspace in cramped properties in places like Cathays.

@ceritheviking Yeah just the little bit around the monument, not the whole section of KGVII Ave.

@ceritheviking You wouldn't lose any parking spaces. In fact if you switched the area at the end to perpendicular parking (like the rest of the street) - you would probably end up with MORE parking spaces, as well as retaining a drop off/turning area, more pedestrian space & protected monument.

@ceritheviking Should recover costs from drivers insurance. Accident waiting to happen letting traffic get so close. Cap KG VII Ave. Create pedestrian space around it, making more accessible, protect w bollards/kerbed grass areas. Event trucks can still access from Blvd De Nantes via bollards

@DanJohnDowling Possibly. Would need a survey. Hopefully the front section near the stone is in better condition. I’d be worried if the brick part is shifting & in poor shape, it could put strain on the attached stone facade, causing cracks, allowing water in & over time weakening it. Also ££££
