you weaken your message when you talk in absolutes. as you can see by the replies it comes off hypocritical and reeks more of pulling the ladder up behind you than salvation. one thing i love about listening to ram dass is he’s not there to enlighten you. he’s just a guy telling his story. if you are so rapt by the story some of the baggage you cling to falls by the wayside all the better.

i think one reason people overestimate ai is they believe there are better ways and worse ways but the truth is there are a myriad paths to god the vision of the artist removes parts from a block of stone to reveal the sculpture as long as LLMs are based off of enormous amounts of data they’ll be going in the wrong direction and if you are curating very specifically for your own purpose you may as well used your own head what’s more valuable to you an instant phd level report on twitter metrics or making your girlfriend laugh the things that are, if you took a moment and considered, the most important in your life if you had all the time in the world will become more challenging. because you didn’t take the baby steps of solving the trivial ones if LLMs do it for you. at least we will have all the time in the world to ponder the important bits. bit of a long way round but that’s so us innit
