@TheBrohioan @CyBahr @TPPSkol @TomPelissero @Vikings I was under the impression that under the current CBA there had to be a “good faith effort” to re-sign a player who has been franchise tagged, i.e. a team couldn’t just tag with the sole intention of trading? If not, it would seem to defeat the purpose of the tag.

They can focus more on winning and and worry less about playing/developing prospects. Though there are still contractural obligations they fulill
