It won't resolve current political issues, and it's only a rather small piece of a much larger immigration ethic, but it may be helpful to you.

RT @BreeNewsome: FOLKS— Biden was INCOMPETENT. We all witnessed him wander off, mentally & physically, numerous times in public. VP is not…

@therobstoddard Sir, that's not how US refugee law has really worked, even to some of the earliest resettlement laws. See, e.g., 1953 Refugee Relief Act: resettles to US from Eurasian Communist Countries Indochinese Immigration and Refugee Act (1975): Resettles refugees to US from Vietnam

@Field_Writer @yetidesignshop It's a bogus (in my mind) argument that an organization that big needs someone with exceptional training/experience, so they need to pay competitive with big jobs in the private sector or they won't find someone. I think all CEOs should have lower pay relative to laborers.

@Cr82worship777 So you're here to troll me about something entirely different than the subject of lawful LIRS refugee resettlement?

@RG_Reads @neeneejocko Immigrants who perpetrate crimes should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. But I assume you don't want all white people or all men jailed or stripped of citizenship because one white man abuses and killed a child. Why the prejudice toward migrants?

@chas_swim_mom @neeneejocko try $30k per family (which wasn't all needed). We paid airfare, covered groceries, lodging, transport. They got jobs, pay taxes. You have no idea what you're talking about. Stop trolling.

@_Useless_Tree_ Source for this statistic? Also, the refugees in this program *are not illegal.* they cross borders with permission from the US government and legal both in 1980 Refugee act in US and 1951 Refugee Convention in the UN. Get your immigration law straight.

@Cr82worship777 Again, refugee resettlement often comes from a camp. Also, first country resettlement is much more complicated in international law; look at the complications of the Dublin convention in the EU, for example.

@Cr82worship777 The ORR refugee program, which LIRS participates in and which I'm referencing, resettles refugees from abroad, often through a connection with the UN (e.g., a camp). So they are vetted in Kenya (for example), then fly to US.

@neeneejocko Fine by me. I helped sponsor five refugee families on private $$ through a Biden program Trump is shutting down. Please feel free to write your representative and ask them to give me the right to do private refugee resettlement.

@jbstenn But the "wide open borders" claim is a myth. CBP claims 2,900,000 migrant encounters in 2024 - those are deportations, denied entries, catch and release. Maybe you're speaking hyperbolically here, but even so, how does thte need to ramp of CBP mean refugee org is illegal?

@yetidesignshop I’m from NC. I helped churches in KS resettle humanitarian immigrants on their own dime, not gov. I wasn’t paid for that process. Trump shut that avenue for private church sponsorship down.

@yetidesignshop Well you apparently have some kind of secret knowledge. 990 reports $232 million revenue, $230 million expenses. I’m trusting it over anon twitter account; but ask your representative to audit. I’m all for it. If they find fraud I’ll 100% admit I’m wrong.

@yetidesignshop (A) CEO and executive pay is way too high here. 100% (B) that doesn’t make the refugee program illegal. (C) tabulating total program expenses vs salary etc renders 97% expense rate toward programs (p. 11) (D) the entire org’s budget wasn’t 300 million in 2023

@WokePreacherTV Maybe we've more agreement than expected. Charity CEOs pull too much money in for themselves, Flynn is way off base. Scripture is inerrant. Truth is objective. Have a good one.

@Vadertime77 Yes, that's too high for CEO pay. I'm in favor of a massive redistribution of salary - better wages for the masses, much less for CEOs (including here). But this doesn't make the payments illegal.
